Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
I have a couple of deleted mountpoints but they remain in the T4 sources menu. How do you get rid of them as they are redundant? I have tried a reboot and a network restart but they won't go away.

I have the same issue
Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
If you attempt to delete the mountpoint, do you get an error and a system reboot?

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
Some more information about the mount method (Autofs/FSTAB/...) would also be useful in both cases. It would save a bit of guesswork by anyone trying to replicate the problem.

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
I was trying different mount methods as the streaming from my T3 to my T4 was pretty woeful.prl wrote:Some more information about the mount method (Autofs/FSTAB/...) would also be useful in both cases. It would save a bit of guesswork by anyone trying to replicate the problem.
I did try several methods to see if differing mount methods improved the streaming.
If it didn't I deleted the mountpoint.
It's not critical, more a nuisance than anything, but the deleted mountpoints still
remain in the "sources" list.
The only valid mountpoint I have is my NAS which streams perfectly.

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
I also tried a factory reset and the mount points still remained in the main menu - despite them being deleted in the mount list.
I don't know what to do about it but I can't have all these redundant mounts in my menu.

Are they FSTAB mounts?

No - they were AUTOFS. I have also tried converting them to FSTAB.prl wrote:Are they FSTAB mounts?
I can't even get the mount points to work in either CIFS or NFS.
I'm going to give up - but when you delete them using mount management they don't disappear from the list of mounts under the sources menu.
It's driving me nuts.
I wonder if a firmware upgrade will let me start with a clean machine...

Hi MrAstro,
Regards,
Ian.
You may care to have a look at Accessing Legacy Windows (SMB/Samba) Shares... to see if you may also need the "sec=ntlm" to get around the mount problem until a better fix is implemented.MrAstro wrote:I can't even get the mount points to work in either CIFS or NFS.

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
It will, but only an upgrade from USB. An online upgrade won't do anything for this problem.MrAstro wrote:... I wonder if a firmware upgrade will let me start with a clean machine...

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
Thanks to both of you guys.
I'll have to investigate how to reload the firmware and where to get it from.

That is what I had to do, from USB, and the redundant mounts in "sources" are now gone.MrAstro wrote:I wonder if a firmware upgrade will let me start with a clean machine...

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
Can I ask where you got the firmware image? I can't see any normal (non-beta) images on this forum.Fester1952 wrote:That is what I had to do, from USB, and the redundant mounts in "sources" are now gone.MrAstro wrote:I wonder if a firmware upgrade will let me start with a clean machine...
Did you have to log a support call?

Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
You should have got a USB stick with firmware on it delivered with the PVR.

Not me, I did revert to the original when I was having the channel scan issues, but have since installed the latest beta and all is good.prl wrote:Are both of you running the original firmware for the T4?

Incidentally I recently bought the Addams Family original series on DVD - I'm a big fan - just thought you'd like to know that
Re: Deleted mountpoints remain in sources
Very happy to report the firmware update fixed everything.
I've also mounted my NAS as a CFS share and it's working flawlessly so far. I used the network browser to install the mount - that is a more intuitive method than manually I think...
Thanks for help everyone.
