RESOLVED: U4 lost HTTP/OpenWebif. "can't establish a connection to the server"
I have hit a wall trying to figure out what's causing this.
I usually use web local LAN access from a PC to my U4 to the OpenWebif pages, to see EPG, set timers etc.
This afternoon the TV had a message, like 'Disk error - disk full?' I usually clear that with the remote (OK or Exit - can't remember).
But this time it would not clear. The Web interface was not responding, the U4 was sending live ABC to the TV.
I had to hit the power switch. Waited a few second & powered on.
I then tried to refresh the OpenWebif page, but got 'Pale Moon can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.24.'
(I also tried Firefox and from Debian & Windows PCs).
I can ping it, I can connect via smb (smb://beyonwizu4.local/movie/ & smb://192.168.1.24/) from Debian, and Windows (\\BEYONWIZU4\Movie & \\192.168.1.24\Movie).
I checked the TV interface the network settings are OK, static IP, gateway, DNS. Restarted the network.
But still can browse via HTTP.
Browser developer tools/network & refresh, sees a GET, but no response.
Anyone got any ideas?
EDIT/
p.s.
After the power cycle there was 35G free, so it seems to be a HDD error that hung it.
I'll try rebooting one of the PCs, and the U4 later after recordings.
/EDIT
I have been doing a little LAN config adjusting, but everything else is working.

Re: U4 lost HTTP/OpenWebif. "can't establish a connection to the server"
Maybe it's simplistic but, when a Beyonwiz misbehaves, I reflash and don't restore settings. If the problem goes away I restore the settings and check again. If the problem returns I know I have a corrupt setting.
If that doesn't fix it, it means the answer lies elsewhere.

Re: U4 lost HTTP/OpenWebif. "can't establish a connection to the server" RESOLVED
Thanks Paul.
When I rebooted the U4 this morning I got HTTP back.
Working as normal.
One of those indeterminant steps in the system...

Oh, and I got a bonus reflash.
It found the update and applied successfully. It failed to update online last time when I tried a while ago.

Sometimes a reboot works as you found out. Sometimes switching off at the powerswitch on the rear works, particularly if recording from HDMI IN plays up.
Glad it came good for you.

Re: RESOLVED: U4 lost HTTP/OpenWebif. "can't establish a connection to the server"
I can open OpenWebif easily on my PC & or my V2 itself. But if I try to open if on my laptop, tablet or phone I can never connect.
If I go and try typing in the exact same number 192. etc it won't connect and it appears to be some sort of security issue. Coul it be that the web address is looking for a missing S or something like that.
Any other ideas?

I connect just with http://192.168.1.24/, no need for https.
Are your laptop, tablet & phone on the same LAN segment, I presume they are wireless?

When I input the number I get first message not secure, the next thing I see no HTTPS,then I select continue to site, finally let message is unreachable.

Re: RESOLVED: U4 lost HTTP/OpenWebif. "can't establish a connection to the server"
The first part is probably a setting of your browser (something like HTTPS-Only mode), the unreachable is possibly your LAN configuration.
It could also be your browser re-directing to HTTPS, if I try via https://192.168.1.24 (ie with the 's') I get an error, unable to connect.
If it is not that, then I suspect your wireless router is on a different segment (ie different address range) and there is no route setup to your PC LAN.
You will need someone with network experience to look at your setup, that is difficult to do via forums.
