Any chance of doing one of these for the T2?

I had no idea where to plug the SATA cable when I got my T2 barebones. Had to open up my existing T2 to find out where it went.

I'm sure other new users would benefit from having T2 instructions, not just the T4.

Just for any first timers!

Not sure if this applies to the T4 but I always switch off my T3 unplug power cable and wait for capacitors to discharge
before opening case!

Yep, it certainly does to minimize risk of a jolt or worse. The T4 PS is a similar exposed circuit board that could catch the unwary out.

I am going to use an old 1TB NAS disk that I no longer use. 2 questions
1. Do I need to wipe the drive first?
2. Will it just work, or do I need to install something in the disk after I install it?

I assume no and no as there is no mention of it anywhere that I can see, but it would be good to be clear.

You can install the disk as it is without preparing anything.

Once installed and you start the T4 you can open up the setup menu and select the option to format the hard-disk. That will tell the T4 to set up the hard-disk in an appropriate format for its own use.

MENU->Setup->Storage->Format hard disk

Make sure that you format the HDD, even if you are not asked to do so and the Beyonwiz seems to recognise the HDD as is.

Doing a fresh format will ensure that the right filesystem options are used.
