Program T4 remote

Post by macy517 » Fri Oct 28, 2016 20:56

I have just upgraded from a DP-P2 to a T4. With the DP, I found a post that gave me some macro's to program the remote to work the TV volume and channels when the DP remote was in TV mode. Can you program the T4 to do that??

Thanks. I had seen that but settled with the first code for my tv brand that seemed to work. I tried the next few codes and found that one of the other codes now works the volume and other buttons. Only problem now is that when the remote is in TV mode, I can't seem to find a button on the remote that brings up the input source. This means I can't change the TV to other inputs from the T4 to the amp etc. How do I get around that?

You could try messing around with HDMI CEC to see if you can get the T4 to talk to the TV via the HDMI cable.

I personally use a Logitech Harmony Universal remote control. I have a dozen devices connected to my TV and it effortlessly automates all of the power and input controls for me.

Hmmm, I've got no idea what you mean. My old DP would change the source. Surely there must be a way with this remote.

As-per the manual, page 47, the only buttons on the remote that control the TV are Vol +/-, Mute, Ch +/-, 0~9, Up, Down, Left, Right, Ok, Red, Green, Yellow, Blue.

There is no source button in TV mode.

HDMI CEC is a technology that lets different devices control each-other over the HDMI cable. Some manufacturers use a marketing term for this (Samsung call it Anynet for example).

If your TV supports it, the T4 may be able to send the appropriate command to the TV automatically to switch inputs.

Id still recommend that you buy a proper Universal remote control though.
