AVI ReComp comment

Post by netmask » Sat Nov 19, 2011 15:56

If you use AVI ReComp to get rid of Quarter pixels (Qpel) in a file that won't play on the Beyonwiz or a Popcorn or just about most media players there is one more step after AV ReComp has completed because, unfortunately AV ReComp produces a "packed" avi file in the process.
The 'fixed' file might still not play or there could be audio issues, so run the processed file through AVIDemux to unpack it - this should only add another couple of minutes to the process.

As AVI Recomp does a full recompression in the process of removing Qpel some loss of quality is to be expected but it is really minute and probably not noticed.
