External AV inputs?
External AV inputs?
Does the T3 have the ability to take an external Av input and record from it.
I use the DP-P2 to record old videos to digital as well as a few things off foxtel on occasion. Sure quality is not the best, but it works for me.

Re: External AV inputs?
No, but yes, but no.
The standard hardware and software does not support what you are asking for.
It may be possible to connect a USB capture device and use it to do what you want, but then again, using that USB device with a PC may be an even better option.

Re: External AV inputs?
So neither of the twin scarts Peter are 2 ways ? Or is It a matter of drm or codec conversion ? ; not that Ive got any old tapes so just curiouspeteru wrote:No, but yes, but no.

Re: External AV inputs?
I have not fiddled with the SCART ports very much, but my understanding is that they are wired through a video switcher which may have signal detect capability. In theory, the VCR SCART connector can be hooked up to another device and it can act either as an output or an input to the video switcher. The video switcher can either take the VCR SCART or the T3 signal as input and route it to the TV SCART connector, which should be connected to your analogue TV and is output only.
Re: External AV inputs?
Its a shame its the feature i use most on my DP-P2. I find it a much better solution than many of those USB video convertors out there.

I agree.justin23 wrote: I find it a much better solution than many of those USB video convertors out there.
A couple of months ago I went through all our family VHS videos and converted them through DP-P2 AV ports. It was easy with acceptable quality.
Maybe keep your DP-P2 for your second TV and you can still do what you want to do.
