Editable channel list?
Editable channel list?
Is there any chance that the T3's TV channel list can be edited to remove unwanted channels, such as those abysmal shopping channels?

Re: Editable channel list?
The simplest way is to set up a Favourite group to include only the channels you watch. The T3 has this function (as do nearly every TV and PVR out there).
Re: Editable channel list?
I am not sure if MadMax was trying to go there but can they be removed from the EPG, who cares about the next time you can buy a Sh@rk navigator lift away.....
Re: Editable channel list?
Yes you can remove a service by going into the channel list and scroll to the channel you want to delate, pressing the menu button and you get a heap of options, one of which is to remove, pic below.

Re: Editable channel list?
When you are viewing inside a Favourites group, the EPG will only show the channels you have put in that group.dmscaro wrote:I am not sure if MadMax was trying to go there but can they be removed from the EPG, who cares about the next time you can buy a Sh@rk navigator lift away.....
My viewing is permanently inside a Favourites group, so I never see the unwanted channels in the EPG.

Thanks for that. Good news.Wiz HQ wrote:Yes you can remove a service by going into the channel list and scroll to the channel you want to delate, pressing the menu button and you get a heap of options, one of which is to remove, pic below.
I knew about the 'favourites' solution long ago, but it was always an inelegant kludge, IMO.

Re: Editable channel list?
Personally I think it is very elegant - no need to delete anything but you only see the services you want.nylonnet wrote:I knew about the 'favourites' solution long ago, but it was always an inelegant kludge, IMO.
Plus you can have multiple groups of favourites, eg kids channels, sports, news etc if you want just see a subset of channels.

Re: Editable channel list?
For me, using the favourites to group and order the services the way I wanted (by network, main service first, rest of the SD services, then the HD service) is almost as important to me as being able to exclude the zillion copies of Prime7 and all the spam.Gully wrote:Personally I think it is very elegant - no need to delete anything but you only see the services you want.nylonnet wrote:I knew about the 'favourites' solution long ago, but it was always an inelegant kludge, IMO.

Re: Editable channel list?
Hi,
As Madmax, Gully and Peter (Prl) have pointed out there are lots of good reasons for using favourites lists.
I don't recommend you actually delete any channels as you never know when you may want to have to access to the channel only to find it is not there. Scanning broadcast channels in a hurry is never a good idea. Just hide any LCNs you don't want behind the favourites feature.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: Editable channel list?
I used be a habitual deleter of unwanted channels. I now think the favorites (sic) method is a neater solution - and less work!IanSav wrote: I don't recommend you actually delete any channels

Re: Editable channel list?
When I re-read my initial review of the P1 the other day, I had stated that I don't use Favourites and never will. The way the channels are have changed massively since then (5 years ago) and I have been using Favs for several years.
Like others, I scan, leave all channels and add what I want in the order I want to Favs.
