Beyonwiz DPS1 stops transmitting to TV

Post by ciscus » Sat Jan 02, 2016 13:45

Hello.

Happy New Year to all.

Hope I am in the right topic area. I have a little problem with my DP-S1.

Sometimes when using playback of recording my TV screen suddenly goes blank. The window on the BW is still on and does not indicate a problem.

After a few minutes, suddenly the BW wakes up and begins transmitting again.

Anyone have any ideas on the problem? Does the BW need to be sent away for repair.

My problem is if I do need to send it away I loose what is on the HDD.

Thanks in advance for any replies,

Ciscus

Hi Ciscus,

One possibility is a loose or failing cable another is a failing power supply.

First check that all cables are well connected and tight. If that doesn't fix things then contact Mark (Warkus on this forum) and seek his advice.

Regards,
Ian.

Have you tried swapping the S1 and the Lite to see if you still have the same problem?

Does the same problem happen with live TV?

Also you have said transmitting to the TV but I presume you mean it is just connected by cables directly to the TV not some sort of wireless transmitter?

I've moved this to a more appropriate area too.
Cheers

Thank you.

I have not tried swapping to the DP-Lite.

I suspect it would make no difference. TV Likewise.

Transmission is via a HDMI cable.

I was using playback of a recording. The TV screen went black. A few minutes later it started screening again. I do not know if it was from the same position.

Perhaps it is the power supply as you say.

I'll see what happens, but suspect the problem will recur.

If I have to send it in for a repair, I don't understand why they have to wipe the HDD.

So I'll wait and see what happens.

Also what is the appropraite area for this problem?
Thanks again

They don't, necessarily. It's just that they might.

Right here in Beyonwiz 'DP' Series Discussion > DP-P2, FV-L1, DP-Lite, DP-S1 and DP-P1 where Gully put it :)

I recommend you try a different HDMI cable as IanSav suggests.

Maybe a little out there, but you have 2 devices connected to the TV.
I have seen on an older TV that occasionally there was some confusion on the display..
My thoughts at that time was that there were 2 separate clocking sources being provided to the TV.
And it didn't have the smarts to differentiate wher the source was from. This causing the confusion, can't remember whether I pulled one source out, or ensured that on was powered down, not in standby. Many moons ago.
Like I said may be right out there, but.
