Beyonwiz DP-Lite i Reconditioned

Post by dwd1249 » Mon Mar 24, 2014 13:12

I'm looking at getting one of these to replace my DP-S1. The S1 has a few intermittent problems with the hdd. I did the PS caps about 3 years ago. So was thinking that for $139 + shipping it might do.

Have a wired network with DP-P2 and we only use the Wizs as PVR. The S1 was sometime used to watch dvds but a dvd player isn't too many $.

Any draw backs with the Lite i ?

Depends what's important to you. Compared to the DP-P2 the Lite i has:
  • No front panel display
  • No front USB
  • No A/V input
  • Two rear USB (rather than one)
  • 8MB firmware flash rather than 16MB
  • Same remote codes as the DP-x1 models, i.e. different from the DP-P2 codes.

Thanks for the reply Peter. Looks looks it would do what I want but will wait.
The deal ended at midnight and I decided not to get the Lite at this time, maybe a T3 later.

Well the $129 deal came up again so this time they got me. Next is the 4 years ice subscription .

I know it's old technology but it does what we want.

It's recording TV broadcasts - that's old technology too.
Multi networked BWs are a good way of sharing recordings around the house, and at these prices, hard to resist. IceTV now allows up to 5 devices per account.
DP-P1 & DP-P2 x 2, 01.05/07.350 Samsung PS64E8000, Pioneer 508XDA, IceTV, Yamaha RX-V3800a, Toppy TRF-2400, Foxtel IQ3, Harmony 1100i, Digitech HDMI switch, Beyonwiz DP-H1 , FW 01.05.350, 320GB Maxtor USB HDD, 42" Panasonic G10A, Yamaha RX-V795a, Foxtel IQ2, Harmony 785, WDTV Live x 3

I just grabbed one as a spare for this reason in case any of my current BW die, now that the T3 is a no-go for me without iceTV.
