Beyonwiz fails to get scheduler tasks from IceTV

Post by rdurie » Wed Sep 28, 2011 16:51

A few timers failed and the timer list was not updating so I deleted all timers to try and force an update from the ICETV guide. Nothing doing so I watched the messaging in the Iceguide setup on the Wiz and it said something like "failed to get scheduler tasks due to time error: IN: 2011.9.20 10:00PM; OUT: 2011.9.20 11:00PM.

I have the time set to Auto for NSW/ACT and the current time is correct daylight saving is disabled. This has happened out of the blue, no firmware update or other out of the ordinary activity.

Any ideas? Help, please!!!

Auto time is always risky and even more so at this time of year.

Best to use Network time.

Gully, many thanks, fixed it immediately. I wish I could remember why I switched to auto time in the first place. cheers, Rob

Its the same error with network time at present for me as well.

Cant convert network to local time or something like that.

If there is any timer in the download that is after saturday night it gets that error then fails to download anything.

Have not sen this in previous years.

Sounds like something that should be flagged in the IceTV forum.

I've had a couple of timers not fire over the past couple of days. Pretty annoying when I opened the Folders menu expecting to watch something and it's not there. I was out at the time and checked the ICETV app on my iPhone to double-check that a timer was supposed to have been set (yep, all good) and then sat down to watch the shows last night and they weren't there.

I've given up on contacting ICETV about timer issues. For some reason it always seems to a problem on MY end, never theirs.

Not trying to challenge that, but it's exactly opposite to my experience! On the few occasions I have had to ring them, they could not have been more helpful. I didn't really expect an answer when I rang one Sunday morning, but the guy picked up straight away, resolved the issue I was having and also clarified a couple of other queries I had. Just the luck of the draw I guess, but I would definitely recommend calling them based on my experience!
