Channel 951??

Post by bomber » Fri Dec 18, 2009 07:30

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else but couldn't find.
Did channel re-scan this morning as we are now getting Win HD.
On EPG guide Win, Win HD and Go all are assigned to channel 951,and not to what they should be.
Can someone please help to fix. Thanks.

I would delete every channel related to Win (live TV, list, show all, delete) and scan the frequency that Win is on with a partial scan. Do you mean the EPG shows three 951 channels??

Yes. EPG lists 3 separate 951 channels.

Hi Bomber,

Do you you have a DP-P2 or a LiDiC? If not then do you have the LiDiC settings enabled in the SETUP menus. If so, then disable the LiDiC delete *all* the duplicates and other LCNs from the affected channels and then scan only those channels again.

Regards,
Ian.

951 is a LiDiC channel. If LiDiC is set to Enable, perhaps disable it while you do the scan. That's about all I can think of right now.

[edit] Snap!

Still no go. How do I scan a certain frequency?
I deleted Win, Win HD and Go, did a rescan but they still came back all under 951.
I then tried to do partial scan from channel 8 to 8 but it came up with nothing.
If Win HD is 80 and Go is 88, how do I do a partial scan to try and get back all my Win related channels.
Cannot find any reference to Liidic in the setup menus.

What frequency/RF channel number is your existing Win channels on? Then do a partial scan just for that RF channel number. In capitals it is VHF8, but might be different for yours.

The numbers you are referring to are the Logical Channel numbers and they don't refer to the broadcast channels that the Win services are in. Do you know what transmitters you receive from?

Sorry, realised after I had posted. Transmission comes from Mt. Dundas. We live in Edenhope.

WIN Digital from Mt Dundas is on channel 10 (212.5 MHz). Interestingly, the commercial stations on Mt Dundas broadcast with only about half the power (15 kW) of SBS & ABC (32 kW).

Even with the ABC's additional power, the ABC's reception map for Mt Dundas shows Edenhope right on the edge of their "main coverage" area (click on the map to get a higher resolution version).

To do a partial rescan, you'll need to delete all the services on channel 10 (LIST, then BLUE for All Services gives you a list of all the services), then go to the Setup Scan Services screen and scan from chan 10 to chan 10.

So if you definitely deleted all Win related services before (and not just the ones in your current faves group) and did a full scan and got the problem, this suggests to me you are getting dodgy table info from one of the duplicate broadcasts, and the Wiz doesn't really like duplicates and selection of a duplicated channel is often wrong (timers, EPG etc).

In the first instance I never actually deleted any of the Win services. I only did a full scan to add Win HD because it showed up on Pana LCD in our bedroom.
Win and Go were always listed under lcn 8 and 88 on EPG(ice), it's when I did the full scan the three suddenly were assigned to 951.

I meant this instance:
