I have discovered a new lockup problem that has similar effects to that of the "legal" DVD related one reported elsewhere.
I was watching a Home DVD that I had made with Nero from external material, and it played perfectly until it got to the very end of the disk then when the last second of the video was played, instead of returing to the file menu, the DP-S1 just hung.
All activities on the player more-or-less froze, and I had to do the "power-plug remove, then DVD eject during re-boot" workaround to get the DVD out and the machine back to normal function. (Then the HDD Check dialog is displayed)
I suspect the problem happens when DVD's are played that have only one title, and no menu.
The problem is also raised in DTVFORUM @ http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?show ... ntry683608
I must admit, although I am still wrapped with this unit, untill all these DVD problems are sorted out, and a new firware release is made, I will use a spare DVD player on my display.

Back to the Forum with a new V2. (RIP my ever trusty DP-S1 and DP-Lite)
