Transfer from DP-P1 to NAS
Transfer from DP-P1 to NAS
The new V2 is working well with timeslip & settings etc on a 64Gb SD card and recordings to the NAS (DS220+).
However, here are a few recordings (< 1Tb) on the old DP-P1 that I'd like to move to the NAS. The DP-P1 is not networked.
Obviously I can copy recordings from P1 to USB stick and then to PC (Win10) and/or the NAS but, of course, I get folders with a lot of files that aren't playable by the V2.
Can I convert them to .ts or other? Or is there another route?
(I'm not keen to enable SMB1, network the P1 and use Wizfx - not sure wizfx works on Win10?; don't want to risk stuffing up the PC shares that the NAS uses as it's all been working well but known to be fragile with SMB1 enabled).

Re: Transfer from DP-P1 to NAS
If it were me, I'd network the DP-P1 and use YARDWiz on the PC to copy the recordings to the NAS. The recordings can be converted to .ts on the fly. The transfer can be done in batches - but at ~2.5-3MB/s it'll be slow.
Re: Transfer from DP-P1 to NAS
Agree that the network connection will be the most straightforward way if you can network your DP unit.
WizFX and YardWiz can both convert those folders full of files into a single .ts file for you. Just point the software at the files on your computer instead of fetching files over the network. It's just extra steps .Tramperb wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 14:58Can I convert them to .ts or other? Or is there another route?

Re: Transfer from DP-P1 to NAS
"many extra steps"
As you know, for recordings copied off the DP-P1, both WizFX and YARDWiz can convert only one resultant .tvwiz folder into a .ts file at a time.
Having the DP-P1 networked and using WizFX or YARDWiz running on the computer to batch copy off the P1 and convert multiple recordings directly to .ts on the fly is the way to go - output directly to the NAS.
For Tramperb -
adoxa has a Windows version of the reconstructapsc plugin that'll rebuild the associated .ap and .sc files to allow playback skipping (.ap) and trick play (.sc) on the Wiz - viewtopic.php?f=50&t=14015&p=185697#p185778
Alternatively, you can run this script on the Wiz with File Commander (Sources / Files), locating it in the same directory as the recordings to do the same job - viewtopic.php?f=50&t=14015&p=185697#p185697
Re: Transfer from DP-P1 to NAS
Thanks again, guys.
I hadn't come across Yardwiz before and had no idea the .ts files wouldn't FF/FR (although that's probably not a biggie for me) without intervention.
