DP-P2 Dead?

Post by Sandy B » Sun May 19, 2019 16:05

My old DP-P2 appears to have died, upon start up I get "ERRO 0000" appearing on the from panel with no display on the TV.

Does anybody know what the problem could be and if it is worth repairing.

It's likely to be a failed power supply, though there are other possibilities, like a flash memory failure (which can in turn be caused by a power supply failure, or even it just going out of spec),

DP-P2 power supplies are quite repairable, and there are DIY instructions on how to do it in this part of the forum (see the stickies).

If you don't feel up to a DIY job, Warkus (Mark) on the forum has an excellent reputation for Beyonwiz repairs, including power supply repairs (he's repaired a DP-S1 and a T4 for me).

His real-life contact details can be found at http://www.decisivecomputersolutions.co ... ntact.html

As prl says, a dead power supply looks to be the most likely cause.

I personally don't think a DP series is worth repairing at this point. Perhaps hold onto it and look and see if Beyonwiz do a trade in offer for a V2 down the road.

Thanks for the advice, out of interest would the HDD from the DP-P2 fit into the new I personally don't think a DP series is worth repairing at this point. Perhaps hold onto it and look and see if Beyonwiz do a trade in offer for a V2 down the road.2

The V2 doesn't take an internal disk, only USB or microSD. You'd have to put the P2 HDD into a USB case and plug that into the V2. You wouldn't be able to play the P2 recordings as-is on the V2. They'd have to be converted into single .ts files, for example with YARDWiz.

Tried to Google WARDwiz but nothing comes up, any idea how I can get YARDwiz
