MKV audio toop fast

I have an old DP-S1 & last night I tried to play some MKV files for the grand kids. Some files played OK, many of them did not.

The video portion was OK but the audio playback was all always too fast & it sounded like a cartoon & you could never make out what was being said.
The files were all created either using Handbrake of VideoReDo.

Where should I be looking to find the problem? Is it likely too late to fix these files?

It would be helpful if you use the util MediaInfo and post the results of one of the problem files here so we know what you are dealing with.

Posting the settings you used in Handbrake and VideoReDo might also help.
