Hi Peter,
Can the resolution of the video podcasts be displayed on the top summary page?

Thanks

A contents summary in the info box below the selection area would be nice, too, especially given the slow download speed. Perhaps resolution could go there, too?

Two things that I would like to suggest about the Podcast interface;

1. Once you start downloading a podcast, you can't cancel (except maybe by switching the unit into standby)

2. I can't seem to pick up the downloads folder over the network and hence can't stream the contents between Wiz boxes.

There is a way to cancel downloads (albeit fiddly). If a file is downloading go into the File Player menu and while HDD is highlighted the download UI should be on the screen, here you have an option to cancel.

Hi Diesel,

Is the Downloads folder not visible across WizPNP?

I wonder if there is a reason why this folder is blocked. Hopefully the next firmware can open this up, unless there is a legal reason why this can't be done. I can certainly copy or move the downloaded podcasts to USB or network connected devices so a restriction for WizPNP seems unlikely.

Regards,
Ian.

Hi, Ian. It might be a client-side problem. I haven't had a look at what the index.txt file looks like when there are downloads present.

Suggestion: a list of what podcasts are available on the WizTV Web site. Much easier and quicker to navigate than on the Beyonwiz, and good advertising too!

No idea why, but the Downloads folder isn't in WizPnP's index.txt. Without that, no transfers of WizTV downloads using WizFX and friends, and no streaming of them, either.

Hi Peter,

I have raised this with Beyonwiz in the beta area.

Suggestion: If the underlying support structure for this is an XML RSS url, it would be useful if there was a category where you could key-in and save your own such as "http://www.abc.net.au/local/features/me/rss.xml". I realize that option would have to be disabled on diskless systems.

Make it so you can subscribe to entire podcast (series) and it is downloaded in background.

Like Itunes.

Apart from getting the Downloads folder contents included in index.txt (so the files can be accessed via wizpnp) the Downloads folder contents should also be included for auto deletion. Downloaded podcasts are a prime candidate for auto deletion IMHO.

How about a combination of both ideas: Provide an easy to navigate podcast listing on the WizTV website where you can tag podcasts for 'download' and 'series download' and specify which wiz will download them and when.

Being able to schedule the downloads for certain hours would be handy for people with late night downloads not counted towards their monthly download limit. You could browse the list and tagging podcasts for download at a later time. Then go back to watching recordings or whatever, and the wiz will later (turn on if needed, then) download the podcasts ready for you to view them the next day.
cheers

Hi Dave,

This queued download feature should be offered as an alternative. There are people who would like to stream the podcasts directly to their screen. In this case the download should start and when enough data is buffered then playback should then also start.

Regards,
Ian.

I'd like to add my support for this feature as well, we've been watching a fair bit of the VIP content and whilst it's not vital, reducing the wait to watch or listen would be great.
