Daylight Saving

Post by pcollingwood » Mon Nov 05, 2012 18:20

Oh for a pair of buttons that say "Start daylight saving" and "End daylight saving"!

Click them, and all required caches etc are cleared and a call is sent to IceTV to update recordings and so on... :D

 EVEN BETTER...
When the automatic change to daylight on/off happens these take place automatically!

One can but dream.

We have been, for a long time now..... :(

From the wish list:

W14. Time and power management improvements, as follows:
(b)
in 'Set-Up' --> 'Configuration' --> 'Time', make the 'Daylight Saving' and 'Region' settings active for all time modes. When "Daylight Saving" is set to "Enable", show two new sub-settings "Start Time" and "End Time". These settings should have default times according to the 'Region' setting, but should also be editable via a pop-up window with the following settings: Month / Week / Day / Hour. e.g. April / 1 / Sun / 02. When this time is reached, the unit should:
. (i) change the 'Time Offset' value by +/- 1 hr.
. (ii) change the duration of any current recordings by +/- 1hr.
. (iii) change the countdown to wake-up for the next timer recording by +/- 1 hr.
. (iv) add 1 year to the Start/End Time.

If we've got this right, I think there would be no need to re-send Ice timers at all, because all timers on the Wiz are stored in GMT which never changes.
