Select sites and download movies
Select sites and download movies
Dear Beyonwiz,
please can we have more internet access and access to download movies.
Since you already have the WizTV etc set up, it should be pretty easy to let us all do that.
All we need is...
- on the WizTV web page, a place where we can enter some web sites (save us from typing it on on the Beyonwiz)
- on the Beyonwiz, access to select the websites that we entered, navigation on the screen with the remote arrows and select key and then download files onto the hard drive.
Hopefully easy.
Regards,

The Beyonwiz doesn't have a Web browser. It uses some Web technology, but it doesn't have what's needed to talk to most Web sites. It doesn't have Adobe Flash or any of the other media players that are commonly used to display Web movie content.
And it only has about 100kB of free firmware flash memory to add the required features.

What I'm after is access to the internet TV stations that abound, including movies on demand. These are available through iinet and bigpond at least. Happy to use a website or other means to specify the sites.
Are we ever going to get internet tv and movies on demand?

iiNet's offering is from fetchtv. The player needs to have the firmware to connect to fetchtv, and probably needs licensing from fetchtv and certainly needs a fetchtv subscription. I think that Telstra's offering is made available exclusively on the T-box.
