WizTV Software
WizTV Software
Does Beyonwiz have the means to tinker with the WizTV software so it can broadcast VOD services like Hybrid TV's 'Caspa'? Beyonwiz will need to offer more content on WizTV if it wants to retain its customers and stop people from crossing over to Tivo, Telstra T-Box, etc.
Perhaps a deal between Beyonwiz and Optus could be set up?

What content does Optus have to offer?Bruce85 wrote:Perhaps a deal between Beyonwiz and Optus could be set up?

Re: WizTV Software
Nothing that I can think of at the moment, but it could offer a lot if it decided to enter the field. I read some where that Optus is looking at starting up an IPTV service with Fetch TV. The rumour I heard was it would offer 12 pay channels $25, plus VOD and and PPV movies. I'd prefer to see Optus work with Beyonwiz.IanSav wrote:Hi Bruce85,What content does Optus have to offer?Bruce85 wrote:Perhaps a deal between Beyonwiz and Optus could be set up?

Re: WizTV Software
Some free content is not going to make me get a dumbed down freeview box like Tivo or anything from Telstra. I like to avoid the free content known as advertising.Bruce85 wrote:Does Beyonwiz have the means to tinker with the WizTV software so it can broadcast VOD services like Hybrid TV's 'Caspa'? Re: WizTV Software
it depends on a) the content they're offering and b) your taste. If you like rugby league, Australian rules football and V8 supercars then the Telstra T-Box is ideal. Why pay $60 for Foxtel's basic connection and sports package when you can get it free with an internet connection?Swordfish805 wrote:Some free content is not going to make me get a dumbed down freeview box like Tivo or anything from Telstra. Hi IanSav,IanSav wrote:Hi Bruce85,This won't be happening with the current hardware. YouTube codec support is a feature of the newer Sigma Designs chipsets.Bruce85 wrote:...One option would be for Beyonwiz to reconfigure its WizTV software so it offers access to YouTube...

Let's hope Beyonwiz release a new model that contains the Sigma Designs chipset!
Okay.IanSav wrote:Hi Bruce85,No. Joost is just another Adobe Flash application.Bruce85 wrote:Is the DP-P2's hardware capable of streaming Joost's content? If so, then Beyonwiz's best way of competing with Tivo and T-Box is by streaming Joost's content.

Thanks for the info.
I don't know what Beyonwiz can do to compete with Tivo.
