In a new model I would like to have access to IMDb that could be looked up whilst viewing a movie as an overlay or a small PIP. But I guess having a iPhone next to me is probably the best that's going to happen...

It is less likely to happen as it is against the IMDb Copyright and Conditions of Use. The costs to licence access to this data is quite prohibitive.
