Test Post

Post by Trevlm » Sun Jan 30, 2011 17:01

Hi guys. My 1st test,
Procrastinated over buying a Beyonwiz for 2 years. Researched asked around annoyed all the stores, finally made the plunge. Bought my DP-P2 about a month ago, absolutely love it.
Tried to sign up to this forum and had a few dramas, being a newbee to forums also. I got onto Beyonwiz tech support, and they were great, can?t praise them enough, Thanks Dave.
Looking forward to talking to the rest of you. :D

Hi, Trevlm. Welcome to the forum.

By the way, there's no 'd' in Beyonwiz :D

Except there was 'd' in Beyonwiz if you go back in time far enough.

For example, the IEEE Standards OUI database registration is made to Beyondwiz Co., Ltd.

There are other instances.

And now for your second lesson - there is no apostrophe in "guys". :)

Depends on the context:
The guy's grammar isn't too good. (possessive)
The guys' grammar is improving. (plural possessive)
The guy's just going out for a while. (abbreviation, "guy is")
The guy's just gone out for a while (abbreviation, "guy has")

No apostrophe when it's a plain old plural subject, object or indirect object, though. :D

Not so sure about a couple of your example but certain Murphy might be upset to loose his law! :D

"Examples", not "example" (there are a couple of them, after all). "Lose", not "loose". "Loose" as a verb is fairly uncommon :) So, it's Muphry's Law again. Muphry's Law isn't Murphy's Law (or at least, it's a very specific application of it).

What examples of Muphry's Law do you find in my examples? Note that in the second, although the guys are plural, the noun phrase as a whole is singular.
