V2 Infobar font, padding and EPG Repeats
I am 'breaking in' a Quad Tuner V2 after many years with a P2 and have 3 questions :
1. Can I increase the font in the playback Infobar or System Menus ? I have found out how to do it for the EPG and Media list but that is it.
2. When I try and add a timer manually, it declares a clash with existing timers sent via Ice TV even if the clash is only with the padding. How can I
stop this from happening ? Also, possibly as a result of padding, programs following each other on the same channel are being recorded on different tuners.
3. On the P2 EPG, programs that are Repeats are indicated with (R). This is not happening with the V2, can I make it happen ?

No, those are fixed in size. The layout is way too detailed and ordered to allow for customisation there.gajcameron wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 17:271. Can I increase the font in the playback Infobar or System Menus ? I have found out how to do it for the EPG and Media list but that is it.
You can't avoid that without stripping the padding. The V2 timers don't really understand what "padding" is. The extra time on the front and end is just "more time" that is added to the regular timer, and once added.....just amounts to a longer duration.gajcameron wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 17:272. Remember too, that, unlike the P2, the V2 timers can happily overlap on the same service. So the end padding on one recording can be happening at the same time as the start padding on the next timer. Both recordings will contain the overlapped section.
If programs follow on from each-other, and their padding overlaps, then the same tuner will be utilised for both recordings. it may be pot luck if the timers don't overlap, and you have multiple timers on different broadcasters starting at once.
How often do you need to be recording from more than 4 broadcasters at once though? That can't be coming up *that* often surely? you can have something like 12 simultaneous timers if you want, on the same service, or on 12 different services, as long as they are on no more than 4 broadcasters at once.
Are you in a mixed frequency area and receive signals from more than one tower? That might make things interesting for tuner allocation.
I think the V2 will take another single USB tuner if you need 5 services at once (the U4 can do 3 internal + Dual External). If you try for 6 tuners, then things get interesting IIRC.
You need to turn that on at the IceTV server end (on Ice's website). It must be a per-PVR setting.gajcameron wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 17:273. On the P2 EPG, programs that are Repeats are indicated with (R). This is not happening with the V2, can I make it happen ?

Re: V2 Infobar font, padding and EPG Repeats
If that's the source of the problem, then it may be able to be controlled by only enabling a subset of LCNs for services in the Op's IceTV My Account>Guide Settings page.
But I think that Grumpy_Geoff's question about checking whether the USB tuners have been recognised (MENU>Information>Devices) should be looked at first.
Some actual examples of the IceTV emailed error messages, and the name of the OP's IceTV region might also be useful in finding the source of the tuner conflict errors.

Re: V2 Infobar font, padding and EPG Repeats
Yes, the V2 (officially a maximum 4-tuner device) can use up to 5 tuners, provided one of the USB devices is a dual tuner.
However, to have 2 USB tuner devices and a HDD connected to a V2, the user will need a USB hub, because the V2 has only 2 USB ports, but the configuration needs 3 USB ports
Also, the 5th tuner will only show up in MENU>Information>Devices and in the infobar on fairly recent metas. It won't be displayed there on older firmware, like the most recent official release (20191106). It will still work, but you just won't see it in Information or in the infobar.

Re: V2 Infobar font, padding and EPG Repeats
If the OP has a Hauppauge USB dual tuner, the V2's MENU>Information>Devices screen should show these tuners:

Re: V2 Infobar font, padding and EPG Repeats
Thanks for all your replies.
1. I will have to get a bigger TV or start wearing my distance glasses in the house.
2. All 4 tuners are listed and working and the problem of a clash of a manually selected program with the padding of programs sent via Ice TV is
pretty rare as more and more of my shows are stored in Ice and I rarely use all 4.
3. I found the 'Custom repeat flag' box on the My recorders page (dont think I had to do this for the P2). Had to re-login to Ice TV on the PVR to get it
to take effect, happy days.

The new series (T/U/V) Beyonwizes use a different server API from the DP series to connect to IceTV. It's so long since I used IceTV on the DP series that I can't remember how it did repeat flagging.

Probably all that you needed to do was disable IceTV/enable IceTV/fetch IceTV EPG & timers. A reboot or GUI restart would have also worked. It just needs to force a full IceTV EPG data reload.

Same "Custom repeat flag" settings - custom string added to either the beginning or end of either the title, subtitle, or description.

Ah. OK. But still a per-device setting, I guess?
