Troubleshooting - Testing the Standby Clock

Post by Wiz Support » Sun Oct 30, 2011 15:30

Checking the Front Panel Clock

If you have noticed that your Beyonwiz does not seem to wake up from standby to record any timers your Beyonwiz may have a faulty front panel clock.

All Models except DP-Lite or DP-Lite-i

Do the following to check the front clock while it is in standby. Turn it off and make a note of the time. Then come back after it should have passed the next hour.

For example:
- Turn it off at 10:30
- Come back at 11:05
- If the front clock shows 11:05 it is ok
- If the front clock shows 10:35 it is faulty (and has jumped back to 10:30 instead of clicking over to 11:00)

DP-Lite and DP-Lite-i

Do the following to check the clock while it is in standby. Manually set a timer to start just after the next hour. Then turn it off, and come back after it should have passed the next hour.

For example:
- Disable Soft-Padding: Go to 'Setup > Misc. > PVR > Soft Padding' and set it to Disable.
- Exit the menu back to Live TV.
- Press Pop-Up then OK on Timer List.
- Set a 70 min duration Timer to start at 5 minutes after the next hour.
i.e. If it's currently between 10:00 am and 10:50 am, set a Timer to start at 11:05 am.
- Exit the Timer menu.
- Turn it off to standby well before the next hour (i.e. 10:50 am).
- Check at 10 minutes past the hour to see if it has turned on (i.e. 11:10 am).
- If it is on and recording the clock is ok.
- If it still in standby the clock is faulty.
