Post by luckyphil » Wed Apr 15, 2009 20:41

Hi
Is there any way of transferring free tv shows that have been saved on hard drive of DP-P2 to a DVD disk?

Hi Phil

Welcome.

Short answer is yes, plenty of ways.

Please take the time to search and read as people have already asked and answered this many times.
Cheers

maybe given the number of times this question is asked, a sticky should be set up with the info required to convert from the BWiz downloaded folder to MPEG2 files

ie.
1. use WizFx to convert BWiz downloaded folder to .ts (transport stream file)
2. use MPEG_StreamClip (or similar) to convert .ts file to MPEG2 (or other) - ignore warning of unrecognised file format.

But they're buried so deep amongt the other stuff that newbies can't find them

IMO some stickies seem pretty obscure vs this one.

....what in your opinion would make the existing ones easier to find? Is it as simple as changing a heading?

I am happy to modify the FAQ based on feedback from users, that's what it's for.... :)
Cheers,

Possibly it's as simple as altering the Export File Formats heading to Export Recording File Formats - eg DVD/MPEG2

Also, the line in that post
Once copied over, Joining, or "stitching" .tvwiz files together into a single file - there are several way to do this.
is a bit confusing as it refers to the .tvwiz files but is not applicable to .ts files so maybe just adding
(this is not necessary if the recording has been downloaded in .ts format)
would make things clearer

That's my POV anyway.

And (just to be a pain ) maybe link the headings to the posts so they navigate to the sections in the thread.
