Master Power for T4
What is the equivalent of master power for a T3 in the new T4 i.e. how do you turn off and on the TV and the T4 with one push of the the power button?
Re: Master Power for T4
Not sure that there is such a creature for either unless it is a function of HDMI where the TV detects no input and turns off. Is that what you mean?
Cheers

Re: Master Power for T4
The only way I could think you could achieve that is if you turn on HDMI-CEC and have the power control transmitted from one device to the other via HDMI.
To my knowledge both the T3 and T4 remote are the same in that they can only work in STB mode or TV mode, but not both at once.

Unfortunately the T4 remote doesn't have the same feature as the T3 remote that allows you to press power and it powers on/off both your TV and Beyonwiz.
I'm not sure that you can even put the T4 remote in locked mode for volume and channel like you can for the T3 remote. IIRC you need to press the STB or TV buttons to change mode to control the other device.
Colin is referring to the T3 remote features outlined in the T3 manual on pages 48 and 49.

Re: Master Power for T4
This is the way my TV turns on when I press the power switch on the T3 as long as my AV Yamaha is on and it's on 24/7 anyway. But I have to turn the TV off manually via it's remote.MrQuade wrote:The only way I could think you could achieve that is if you turn on HDMI-CEC and have the power control transmitted from one device to the other via HDMI.

Interesting feature!scotty wrote: Colin is referring to the T3 remote features outlined in the T3 manual on pages 48 and 49.
I suppose you could always use the T3 remote with the T4 too. As long as the two aren't in the same cabinet as each-other, then you can just set the T4 to respond to the T3's default 0xABCD code set.
You'd probably need to buy a second T3 remote for the T4 if you still wanted to use the T3 in another room though.
