Beyonwiz DP-S1 Controller

Post by nomismikah » Sat Oct 30, 2010 17:38

Hi All,

Our controller has been playing up. It now won't work at all. We've changed the batteries but still nothing. Then sometimes it just works. The lights seem to come on when we push the buttons. But no action happens. Sometimes it would also get stuck when we press forward or rewind.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks

Simon

Have you checked that the battery terminals in the remote are clean?

Mods: this would probably be better off in the Remote Controls section of the forum.

Hey Peter,

Yes the terminals are all clean.

Any other thoughts?

I'm wondering if I can use my Philips Plasma TV controller for the Beyonwiz?

Hi Simon,

I doubt the Philips remote control will work.

Is it safe to assume that the STB button is the one that flashes and not the TV button? When you press any button does the STB button light up with a strong steady red light?

How old is your DP-S1? If it is about 3 years old then perhaps the power supply has come to the point of needing refurbishment.

Regards,
Ian.

Hi Ian,

Yes the STB button comes on strong when I push a button.

Yeah I reckon it would be about 3 years old.

Power Supply for the box?

Cheers

Hi Simon,

You really should try having a look around the forum. Much of the important information is either sticky or near the top of each area. Come on, this stuff isn't really that hard to find...

Hi Ian,

So because my remote control doesn't work with the box. You are suggesting I replace the power supply?

Sounds too hard and way too much information. I also tried using the remote control to set up a TV and it looks like that doesn't work either. Maybe suggesting it could be a remote control issue and not a box issue?

Yep. And I've done a search through the forum on remote control issues.

I can't find much.

Cheers

Hi Simon,

It doesn't sound like you read that power supply thread. If you had you would have noted that the Beyonwiz can become quite unstable as the internal power supply starts to fail and go further and further out of specification.

Ian.

Hi Ian,

I appreciate your help. So basically you are saying get the box checked out with a tech.

Or maybe I just replace it with something better?

Thanks

Hi Simon,

Again, if you *read* the thread you will see that our member Warkus (Mark) offers a fast and quite inexpensive repair service.

Ian.
