BR-01 remote is getting lazy

The BR-01 remote for our DP-P1 is dying and needs to be replaced. Is it possible to buy a new one? If not what options do I have.

My BR-01 remote still works but has a 4 to 8 second delay between pressing the button and the remote sending the command. Is this a throw away or are there fixes? If its an ex remote could anyone recommend a suitable universal remote to use. Cheers

If it isn't something as simple as a stuck button, and it has nice fresh batteries in it, then I think the remote is probably on its last legs.

I always recommend the Logitech Harmony Universal remotes as (relatively) simple and very functional units.
If you have many devices in your AV stack (I have about a dozen), then it makes swapping between units or "activities" very very simple.

I'd recommend the Harmony 650 if you are on a budget, and have simple requirements, but if your needs are more advanced, then the Harmony Hub based remotes are great. I wouldn't recommend the Harmony 350. I made the mistake of buying one cheap for a friend, and the 350 is just a bit too simple to be of much use.

I have the Harmony Ultimate, and a Harmony Elite. These ones can talk to my PS3 and PS4 over Bluetooth, they control my Philips Hue lights over WiFi, and allow me to send remote control commands from my phone or tablet.

The hub based remotes are a lot more expensive, and have a full touchscreen on them, which means they have fewer physical buttons, which may not be your preference.

Thanks for your info as I think the remote is stuffed. I had it apart looking for stuck buttons, dirt or corrosion and its in a very clean condition and it has nice fresh batteries installed so I will think about the remotes you suggested, thanks. Murphy's law is also telling me that once I buy a new remote the unit will fail. Cheers

A brand new BR-01 remote will be exactly like your old DP-P1 remote and will be compatible with your DP-P1.

Just as an FYI, Officeworks do sell the Harmony 650 for the same price as the BR-01 remote. (With a few cheaper ones on eBay). You do need to program the Harmony to work with your gear using a PC program, so I can understand if the extra fuss may not be worth it .
