I have added the release notes below. After loading the firmware WizTV subscribers for a limited time will have Free access to a Public Beta of our new look VIP Club. In the VIP Club you will find our new Podcast service where you can download Audio and Video files direct from a selection of providers, more premium services will be added in the future.

Firmware release note ( 01.05.301)

01.05.301

Auto Delete feature was added.
 ?Auto-Delete? menu was added into Setup->Misc->Preference menu. If you select ?Enable?, the garbage collection is activated. And sub-menu ?Timer Auto-Delete Default? sets the default setting for the timer recording as Never, 1, ?, 365 days after. ?Never? sets the timer recording not to be deleted automatically. ?X days after? sets the timer recording to be deleted after given days. Input is possible using <, >, or numeric keys.
 The unit works periodically to collect the recordings which are their lifetime exhausted into the Trashcan (see File management section) and the collected victims will be deleted physically if the HDD free space is under 6GB.
 ?Auto Delete? item was added into the Timer Add/Edit pop-ups. It sets the lifetime of the timer recording.
 ?Auto Delete? item was added into the POP-UP menu pop-up in the file play list. It sets the lifetime of the selected timer recording. For multi-selected files, the popup will display the Timer Auto-Delete Default value.

PVR enhancements:
 Playback of the recording file is possible even if the recording metadata are broken. For the case that it is unrecoverable, some editing features (delete, keep, cut) will not work.
 The bug that lost time-shifting condition when time-shifting a current recording, after the recording has stopped was fixed.
 When timeshifting or chaseplaying one of two simultaneous timer recordings, which are immediately followed by another timer recording, at the moment when the third timer begins your viewing will not be stopped, and one of the first two recordings will not be harmed.
 The DCM (Dynamic Channel Management) was applied. This can be turned on or off in the Setup/Misc/PVR. If it is on, newly added channels or deleted channels can be applied without a scan. In the case that the frequency information in the NIT is differ from current broadcasting frequency, the DCM ignores it. (To handle the erroneous case at the ACT.) If you deleted some channels manually, then it will automatically restore them. But manually renamed channels will be kept. Normally you can not detect any clue that indicates the DCM is there.
 To address WinTV SD aspect ratio problem, you can memorize temporary aspect ratio setting by ZOOM key in the TV service list popup even if temporary setting is same as the global setting.
 The channel D44 scanning problem was fixed. They will be successfully added into the Service List.

EPG enhancements:
 The FTA or IceGuide-processed EPG data will be stored to the internal or registered (for DP-H1) HDD. To clear the stored data, use Setup->System->Initialize->Clear EPG Disk Cache menu.
 The scrolling into the blank area is not allowed.
 In the case that a programme cell is slightly indented due to a late start time, and the cell is on the left edge of the EPG, you will not have a problem on the navigation.

UI enhancements:
 In the Add Timer /Edit Timer windows, when setting "Mode" to "View", the ?File Name?, the ?File Lock? the "Auto Delete" fields are hided.
 TV-out now requires the confirmation input by the user or it will restore the previous setting.
 Pressing the TV OUT button now always take you to the next output setting in the cycle.
 When using the TV-OUT button to cycle through the settings, pressing the 'EXIT' button cancels it.
 When using the TV-OUT button to cycle through the settings, when you cycle all the way around to the setting you started on, the warning message disappears.
 In the ?Port? pop-up under the WizPnP setup menu, the current port number will be entered at the opening.
 In the ?Find PC? pop-up, the IP input will be started at the last IP field.
 When using the on-screen keyboard in Caps Lock mode, if 'C' is selected and UP is pressed, the selection moves to ?Space? correctly, rather then 'Clear' as before.

Setup menu enhancements:
 New time mode ?NEWTORK? was introduced. It will use the NTP(Network Time Protocol) client to synchronize the system clock to the network time server. You can enter the server address by IP or domain name. The synchronization will be done at the boot time, per 24 hours or just after the server address or the time mode changed.
 When Time -> Mode is set to "AUTO", when changing the Daylight Saving setting, the Time Offset is updated on every change immediately.
 The previous Misc./Preference menu were divided into three menus: PVR, File Player, Preference. You could see what menu items inside at a glance.
 The Network/WizTV/Watch TV in Background menu was moved into the Misc./Preference menu.
 The skip options were separated into two categories: one for the PVR, one for the file player.
 The Misc./File Player/Filter Default menu was added with four options ?Movie?/?Music?/?Photos?/?Media.? At the first time you open the file player after boot, it will show the chosen filter. Default setting is "Movie." After that, it will remember the last used filter until power off

WizPnP enhancements:
 The WizPnP server freezing bug was fixed when the media file playback is paused on the server side.
 The playback of a recording via a DP-H1 through WizPnP is now working.
 Index.txt will be made using the file indexing service. System load were much reduced.

File playback enhancements:
 The front panel will update the playing time with respect to the system load.
 The playback from the USB devices was slightly enhanced. The bug that the playback from the USB device was stuttered at some time after start was fixed.
 The freezing problem at a point ~1 second from the end of the some AVI files was fixed.
 An ?Unsupported format? error message when attempting to play a locked file was fixed.
 Some AVI files with changing frame rates now can be played.
 Playing DVD will not break the aspect ratio setting for WinTV SD.

File management enhancements:
 The detach command for the USB device is only applicable at or above the USB mount folder.
 The folder names ?recording? and ?contents? at the HDD root level were changed into ?Recordings? and ?Contents?, respectively. Their sorting order was fixed to Recordings and Contents, regardless of the sort option.
 New fixed folder ?Trashcan? was added at the HDD root level. It will contain the collected victims by auto delete option. This folder will be emptied if the internal HDD is full. Until it is emptied, you can move/copy the recordings in it back to another place or delete immediately.
 The internal HDD or registered HDD (for DP-H1) usage is displayed under the clock.
 The name with mixed case (i.e. ?BSG?) is supported correctly for the HDD.
 All media category was added using movies, music, photos and subtitles filters.
 The favorite list for all media category was added as ?Favourite Media?. This is a different list from Favorite Video/Audio/Photo lists.
 The file list has 8 files per page rather than 7 files as before.
 The codepage option for Windows share or smb drives was set to 437.
 Changing the sort order will update the file list immediately.
 The sort option ?Time ASC? was changed to ?Old->New? and ?Time DESC? to ?New->Old.?
 New sorting option were added: Small->Big and Big->Small, by the file size. Plus, Short ->Long and Long->Short were added to the recordings folder only.
 If two files have same name but different modified time and the sorting option is by Name, those will be listed by time order. The sorting option precedence is: file size, duration, modified time, name and time (if name equals.) If previous one equals, then compare next one.
 Selecting a file using the blue button and then using the POP-UP -> 'Rename' function will rename the 'ticked' file correctly, rather than the file highlighted by the cursor.
 After doing ?Rename? function, the next file will be selected, not the first one.
 The cancelling a copy function of multiple non-BW media files now works correctly. It cancels all the files selected, not only the current file.
 The bug after doing ?Delete-Selected? editing was fixed.
 After doing ?Copy-Selected? editing, the file can be deleted without rebooting workaround.

System enhancements:
 The UI list navigation bugs were fixed.
 The memory allocator was fixed for the exceptional case.

Known problems

 Copying from a DP-H1 USB recording drive to a USB external HDD makes the PVR and file copy/moving feature crash.
 Using a USB disk or memory stick while capturing and/or watching channel 950 (A/V Input) may cause the LiDiC to lock up or even crash the system.
 Some recording files have a playback glitch at around the 10 second mark, where the picture freezes and audio is lost for ~2 seconds.
 ISO image files over 2GB copied into the internal HDD will not be played correctly. Don?t copy ISO image files over 2GB into the internal HDD.
 MKV and H.264 AVI support
 Some files with unusual frame rates may not be played properly.
 Some files with multiple audio tracks may not be played properly.
 CD/DVD auto playing feature is not supported in the contents play page.
 For some media formats which do not support trick mode play, resume play cannot provided.
 The file playback is stopped using previous/next track button, the resume play position of that file will be lost.
 In audio passthrough mode, the movie with WMA Pro audio track file (typically, some of WMV files) will make the set frozen after second skip operation.
 The files which require WMV7 or WMV8 video codec can not be played.
 In HDMI auto mode, some LCD TVs display black screen when start playback of a DVD title. With TV-OUT button, screen can be restored.
 A 'view' timer can sometimes cause an 'HDD Check' procedure the next time you start the unit
 Menu-less DVDs currently crash the DP-S1.
 DVD playback (including network ISO and file images) can be erratic, particularly the slow down or freeze during the DVD introduction sequences or copyright messages.
 For the files with slow seeking performance, wait after each skip operation until the picture moves. (If you press long and release the skip button, it is one skip operation.)
