DP-H1 compatibility with DP-P2
DP-H1 compatibility with DP-P2
Hi
I have a DP-P2 and I am thinking of the H1. I see a lot of posts about being able to stream files from the P1 but what about a P2 - will it work?
My P2 is linked to my network via ethernet and the H1 will be via a wireless N 5Ghz bridge.
Files will be on the P2, a readynas I am already accessing from the P2 and eventually on a USB HDD on the H1.
Does anyone foresee any issues?

If you go ahead, beware of the following.
Firmware 1.05.334 will almost disable the streaming ability from your P2 to your H1 and vice versa. Also if you plan to use a USB powered external HDD on your H1, I would again caution against using that firmware, it caused no ends of problems for me as I have a WD Elements 250Gb drive attached which used to work flawlessly under 1.05.320. The upgrade stopped all access to the drive.

DP-P1 in the lounge, DP-H1 in the master bedroom. Happy kids and Mrs Crippstor all around, and if Santa Beyonwiz brings out a new model, the P1 to the bedroom and the H1 to the man shed

Re: DP-H1 compatibility with DP-P2
Hi Crippstor, and anyone else that feels they are able to assist
I realise this thread is quite old now, but wondered if you knew where i could obtain this infamous 1.05.320 firmware??
I've found links in various threads to www.beyonwiz.com, but it appears that site is no more..
There really are no new posts on the current release firmware...(Other than you noting that the .334 almost disables streaming ability..)
I have little faith in the new .350 as no one has really mentioned anything about it (Although perhaps that is a good thing?? No news is good news? )
Thanks

Hi NaturalSelector,
I don't have access to a DP-H1 but I believe that the 01.05.350 firmware is the best version to use for all DP series Beyonwiz units that use the 01.05.xxx series of firmware.
Regards,
Ian.

Why? .350 has been a stable firmware for more than 2 years.NaturalSelector wrote: I have little faith in the new .350

Natural Selector,
No news is indeed good news. I have been using 350 on my P1 and H1 since release and streaming both ways is working fine on both for me.

Re: DP-H1 compatibility with DP-P2
Thanks Very much for the information, and vote of confidence for the .350 firmware!
I had not been able to find much positive information on the latest firmware. But several years ago people seemed to like the .320 firmware, hence why I thought I'd go with that to start with.
So yes it does seem as though no news is good news
I'll head over to the downloads and get me some .350 action!
Thanks again
