H1 USB HDD, default folder

Post by shanem2 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 20:34

When recording with a H1 onto an exteral HDD, when you go to play back you have to select USB, Unit_0, Recordings then the file. I may have missed a folder inbetween. Is there any way that you can jump straight from USB to the Recordings directory?

No, not from startup, but if you exit the file player with LiveTV instead of Exit, when you re-enter the file player you go back to exactly where you were before.

Unlike the Px series, the H1 defaults to Network as the starting point in File Player.
It shouldn't be too hard for the programmers to change this to USB. However, this would probably annoy as many users as it pleases, so what is needed is a menu option to change the default.

Or start in USB if there's an attached recording HDD, Network otherwise.

Thanks. Maybe another fix/feature to go in the next firmware, just to delay it a little longer ;)

I set my parents up with the H1 to allow them to replace their VCR without going the whole cost of the P1, P2 or S1, etc...

My Dad was asking the question the other day. For some reason they don't use it for time-shift, they just use it like a VCR and then watch TV on the Plasma... Oldies for ya...
