Playing MKV files from NAS drive. Problems.

Post by scaredy cat » Mon Sep 17, 2012 19:22

Strange, until now I can play MKV files from the NAS drive.

Just recently I got two MKV files and when I played them, one played back with bad audio sync.

The other one the DP-P2 crashes.

It has to "check hard drive" - which is weird, as its hard disc isn't used - or so I thought.

Another PVR plays the files back quite happily.

The files have since been deleted, but I just thought I would ask.

You are not going to get much of an answer without a better description of your set up and a mediainfo report on the file in question as you haven't given much to go on.

Yes, I agree, but I don' t know what to tell you.

This is what I "know":

The DP-P2 can see the NAS drive. Moves, piccies, etc.

It plays all the movies on the NAS. Except for these two MKV files.
I won't go into the MP3 playback - that's from way back.

But suffice to say OTHER MKV files play ok.

These two MKV files play back ok with my other PVR.

Hi Scaredy Cat,

As Gully posted, and has been asked many times before, if you wish to report a problem with a media file please attach a "MediaInfo" report on the media file.

Regards,
Ian.
