Hi Eolian, All happy now though. Saw post about scheduled recordings going missing, but I've never experienced that. Then again, I do edit every recording however to pad it out, so this must be bypassing the issue. Funny about that, I also find myself manually adjusting all timer recordings to allow...

Hi All, I suspect that Beyonwiz has been inundated with input and feedback on the DP-S1. I too await the next firmware release to see what has been done and what is left to be done. I hope that someone from Beyonwiz will come back to us with a collated list of bug and feature requests that have been...

Hi T, I have the same problem losing sync with 720p over component cables to a projector. I don't think it is the projector since it only happens with the Beyonwiz. I have not tried running it at 1080i because, frankly, the picture is pretty crap when its downscaled by the projector. What other equi...

Hi Pete, I too stream content from my PCs and my NAS. (For Bandit, I use an Infrant (now Netgear) ReadyNAS NV+ .) I use CAT5e because I have the house wired for it. I have no issues with media playback. In fact, I think media playback is better through the network than it is playing the same file fr...

Hi Simon, This is definitely not argument material. I was just concerned that the wording of your post may have given people reading it the illusion that the Beyonwiz was not working properly in the scale or magnitude of the Topfield or Teac HD PVRs. I was trying to say that the bug isn't that big, ...

Re: Confirmed timer bug
Hi Simon, This is the first serious bug I've seen, let's hope there's still time to fix it before the next release. I hope you are using the term "serious" as "this is not a joke" as opposed to "this is a critical failure" type statement. I would not rate this as a crit...

Hi Dave, Another excellent suggestion. But how exactly do you envision getting the buffer to change channels (if you decide you want the buffer on the channel you've just switched to)? Pressing stop would seem to be the obvious solution. I presume that the capture system is little more than a bit of...

Hi Dave, The BW does see my Dreambox and streams files from it so I know it can see other devices, just not the computer in this case. Like others, a BW network search gets to 49% and finishes.! Hmmmmmm, on my network the scan pauses for a short while on 49% and then continues on to the full 100%. I...
Hi All, Just out of interest... I just noticed that Ice offer a free 1 day EPG for anyone to use and they provide a free PC addon widget to view it. Is there any chance that Ice could extend this 1 day free EPG to us Beyonwiz users? Perhaps danielicetv can jump in and let us know if this could be po...

Hi All, Another compromise could be that changing channels no longer clears the timeshift buffer. It continues as a perpetual two hour loop recording whatever channel is displayed on screen. That way, if you forget that you have something in the buffer that you wanted to see you can still rewind and...

Hi Dave, OK then, it must be an issue with the WinXP settings on my laptop that stops the BW seeing the lappy's HDD. The current Beyonwiz firmware does not have the ability to set the account username and password that the DP-S1 uses to connect to other devices on the network. Currently it will only...

Hi Warren, I prefer to look at my Beyonwiz as relatively bug free but with a few features missing. I accept that people have found some faults with the unit but I think it is significant to realise that this unit is still on its initial release firmware. Bugs are quite few given the feature list of ...

Hi Nixay, I would still give Sony a call. Given that the bug appears to be a failure of compliance with the 720p standard, Sony may offer to make the adjustment at no charge for you. At most it may require you to visit a service centre. If you are lucky they may just give you the command sequence to...

Hi Warren,
Regards,

At the moment the media player is a simple file browser based player. ID tags etc are not used. Who knows what future firmware updates will bring.wazandnat wrote:I was wondering if anyone knows if this unit will play music according to their genre as you can with windows media player?

Hi Nixay, Another night problem-free using 1080i over component. At the end I flipped it back over to 720p and within 5 minutes lost sync again. So definitely a problem with that resolution - will find out tomorrow if HDMI has the same issue. I was trying to use 720p because that's the native (or cl...

Hi Jason, Hell yes!! I just bought a Harmony 1000 which is pretty much a useless doorstop atm!! Apart from the fact that your Harmony can learn the Beyonwiz functions, I was told by a Logitech rep that the Beyonwiz had been added to the list of devices known. Hi Bandit, To check for performance issues you should try and eliminate as much of the network as possible and see if the issue persists. The most simple network required for the basic test is to connect the Beyonwiz directly to a PC using a cross-over cable. Make sure that the PC and the Beyonwiz h...
