Re: For the non tech geek owners of Beyonwiz FV-L1 ..
Can't skip advertisements, means don't skip it anymore when viewing recorded program! Take the time to go to the toilet (take a leak), to the kitchen (grab a snack) just like the good old days when we have no beyonwiz yet ! I tend to just hit pause if I want to pee... 4. Can still upload MKV, AVI e...

Re: FV-L1 return, tactics for 'the Good Guys'
You do have a problem with the 4 months I suspect. A couple of weeks and just about any store will swap over the model on the grounds you didn't know it couldn't skip ads, offload content etc.. Do you have the original packaging? That always helps if you can box it back up. In general after a few we...

You could try ringing ICE (rather than here). They can look at what's happening real time and probably tell you what's going awry. Its possible your issues are related to your network setup or the BW firmware etc.Starionx wrote:I'm glad I only paid $49 for the yearly subscription.Meh....

Doesn't bother me (although it does sound like a variant on my make the volume OSD less intrusive). That's a pretty useful feature given current channel offerings. I'm guessing current Wiz hardware probably can't support this. No reason it shouldn't really. The main amp is where volume should be controlled. Quite liking the BW however one aspect I find really intrusive is the volume bar. These days a combo of kids sleeping, high background sound, poor TV speakers, etc. mean I'm upping and dropping the sound levels a fair bit during a show (up for quiet speech and down when the explosions start). The BW...

I find AVIs have no issues. MKVs maybe 1 in 5 will play fine for a while before decending into a judering mess. As such I tend to copy them over to the local drive for watching (1Gb = 1 MKV = about 4 minutes)

I think you have set the global trashcan value accidentally. It will be a menu option. Basically by default you can set a file to be kept X number of days and then moved to the Trashcan. (You should find your missing files in there I believe). You can override this defualt when setting a timer (I th...

Re: Fv-L1 not recording scheduled shows
Any ideas ? You should do a bit of 10 minute testing (like you're doing) to make sure you've got the basics in place. First up get the unit working fine before worrying about ICE. 1) Ensure the date / time of the unit is correct. 2) Ensure you're selecting a record timer not a play/view timer. 3) E...

I agree. There are already PVRs on the market that can record more streams than they have tuners. Topfield make some of them. Beyonwiz makes one, too. Unfortunately your options are very limited with an extended waranty. You have no rights to demand any particular course of action by the repairer. They are only obligated to restore the units functionality back to working. How they do this is up largely up to them. If they can't source parts in a r...

Re: Picture Quality DP2 vs STB
If properly connected a component cable connection will always be noticably better than composite for any set top boxes. Either the BW is faulty or (more likely) you've set things up incorrectly. 1) Take the amp out of the equation as a test as it might be that's the issue. 2) Check your video setti...

Or simply mount the ISO with various utilities and grab the VOBs out of it. ISO isn't a video format. ISO is a capture of a whole disc image. I assume the VOB structure isn't smart enought to realise its been split into 3 bits and play each one sequentially on the BW? I'll look at DVD Shrink. Thank...
