Thanks all for the suggestions Ended up turning HDMI automatic resolution off and that seemed to fix the overscan and subtitles. Used the OSD adjustment to shift everything slightly to the LHS as it was just chopping off the content on the play bar pop up across the bottom of the screen All good now...

All fixed! Took it to the Sydney repairer and he also flashed it with latest FW and from panel FW - or is that the boot loader? Anyway, all settings have been reset and no saved settings - must have been cleaned out with the front panel flash. Slowly making my way through the setup to return it back...

As the U4 uses a 2.5" harddrive, what considerations would be necessary to install a drive from a T2 into a U4? Transferring the hard drive from a T2 to a T4 should be no problem. The recordings on the drive should be playable in the same way on the U4 as they were on the T2. I have a T3 that'...

I was all keen to maybe upgrade then saw it was a triple tuner...which is what I already have.
The plug-in 4th tuner is unreliable in my experience

The T4 is definitely faster than the T3. I don't think that the T3 is that much of a slouch though. I think that poor coding behind the scenes is responsible for much of the lack of responsiveness in the UI. I am currently rewriting the Setup menu code and .... Unit returned on Monday, less than a week turn around - took longer to get the reply paid sticker email! Not a good start though after first starting it back up, checking timers, filling the EPG etc, the unit froze up. Rebooted and all OK so far - just wonder whether the T3 is just too underpowered ...

Yeah, I have a P2 that could probably be fixed relatively cheap by warkus, my Panasonic plasma is over 10 years old and still going v.strong (touch wood) , but disappointing the T3 has only lasted 18mths

My T3 slows to a crawl if it's not restarted after a week to 10 days. The first sign is the play/info bar takes about 30 secs to disappear. It's a balance between quick start up times when the family want to watch TV and power saving. I need to explore a bit more around a scheduled shut down say 1am...

It would be good to to be able to set recordings using the 'rec' button If you are talking about the EPG, then you can.
