The Pana wont play .MKV files. The cheapest Bluray player does just not the recorders. yep, also have a Mac mini with 4 tuners as part of my set up. Can pretty much play anything with that. The pana is just a more wife-friendly backup recorder and I'll be able to get rid of my bluray player as well...

It's a sad day
I think the time has come, my S1 is on it's last legs. HDD checks, won't boot, locks up After more than 5 years of faithful service I think I'm about to leave the comforting embrace of my Wiz and jump over to one of the new Panas. Funny thing is that my first PVR was a Pana, before the Toshiba. So w...

hmmm, very interesting. Had turned Ice of and was using FTA EPG. Turned IceTV back on, BW went mad, kept on locking up and spontaneously turning off after about 2 minutes. Was running FW 1.5.260 and noticed on the IceTV site that there could be problems with older version of the FW, so upgraded to 3...

Very interesting this thread. Like OPs have said. I changed the time on my S1 to GMT+10 and since then ICE TV hasn't worked at all. I haven't changed anything else on the BW, newtork, router or other PCs. The BW is still attached to the network, I can see it from my PCs, and play files from the PCs ...

If your TV is HDMI capable, find out the best and cheapest HDMI cable in advance, as HN swear the Monster (at about $300!) is the only good choice. I have no idea. You only need to spend $20 to $50 on an HDMI cable. You only need to spend SIX BUCKS for a 2m cable at MSY - http://www.msy.com.au/Part...

Video player software play file while still recording
I'm sure one of you gurus will know the answer to this. Problem I'm trying to solve is for simulated video streaming. Specifically, I want to be able to play a file on one PC that is being recorded on another PC. I can get KMPlayer, DVBViewer, Nero, Media Player Classis all to open the file while it...

S1 - my last PVR for some time???
I've had an S1 since they first came out, and it?s my 3rd PVR, prior to the S1 a Toshi (which I gave to my brother in law and quite bizarrely it's still working) and one of the first Hard drive anaolgue Pioneers (which is still working at a friend?s place). I've got to say that the BW has been great...

If you can capture straight to your PC buy some other capture device. There are plenty around for well under $100 that don't have the aspect ration problem. I've got an LiDC but use my Cheapy USB capture device instead. Much easier. I actually leave it hooked up to my PC all the time so I can have a...

I didn?t want to alarm anyone about this problem that I first noticed last Sunday, so I waited and watched, and it happened again last night. BW to Onkyo to Pio via HDMI no picture - Please help
Hi Would appreciate any help on this as the finance minister is somewhat unhappy that I spent $1000 on a new amp to "make things easier", but now we've got no picture. The short story - have got a Pioneer PDP505 and purchased an Onkyo 606 with 4 HDMI inputs. Connected my BW S1, Foxtel IQ a...

Harmony 785 - keys to quick!!
Just spent a few hours setting up my new Harmony 785 for my HTPC, IQ2 and DP-S1. All works well except for a few of the keys where it is very difficult to get one press of the Harmony button to respond as a single key push on the BW. For example 9 out of 10 times the right arrow gives me 2 x 15 sec ...

I've got an S1 and an IQ, they both do a great job at what they are designed for. I've...
