I can confirm that re-flashing the firmware fixed the problem. Because I already had it ready on a USB stick I stayed with 16.1 for the moment so could keep all my settings.
I have downloaded 19.3 and will get around to doing that when I have time.
Thank you everyone.

Re: T4 startup hanging?
Obviously the 49% is a significant point in the startup which will help the gurus. 49% is where the operating system and enigma2 platform start booting up. This might be a case of filesystem corruption on the internal flash memory. Perfect opportunity for you to install a fresh copy of firmware, an...

Re: T4 timeshift has stopped working
While the idea of a double zap will work one day that will bite me at the worst possible moment. How about an auto-standby timer? Set a repeating auto-standby timer for 720 minutes (12 hours). That way, timeshift will switch off after the T4 has been left idle for too long. But I want it on for str...

Is there any update to the folders issue? Nothing has been publicly announced as to whether anyone has taken up the task. Short answer, n...

Re: T4 timeshift has stopped working
My bet is the problem is leaving the T4 on one channel for days. I did that with the T3 and filled a 2TB drive in a few days (or so it seemed). Exactly the same outcome - failed recordings and no freespace. All the space was taken by timeshift! Changed channels and it resolved itself. To prevent th...

"Ad skipping" when playin recordings?
Is there (or will there be) any way to do small jumps (to skip ads) when playing recordings via the app?
The scroll bar (especially when used with a large finger is too imprecise for this.
When timeshifting via the app you don't even get the scroll bar, or any equivalent.

When I first got the T4 it was working better than now (720p25)! I want that back if I can. Re: T4 HDMI input recording.
Why? p60 will always work. p50 will break for anything that is not already 25 or 50, either p or i. For the sake of smooth playback and keeping the resulting video as a straight multiple of the source. (I know 24->60 isn't a multiple too, but 3:2 pulldown is a pretty decent compromise). Though when...

Re: T4 HDMI input recording.
All HDMI input will be transcoded to 720p60 when recording. To ensure smooth playback of those recordings, you should have autoresolution on so that the TV output is switched to the appropriate mode on playback. It's a puzzle! Or perhaps just an Enigma? Changing the IQ2 output to 720p made no difference to the T4 recordings (tried both "Auto" and "multi") though the TV (direct) correctly saw the change. I'm using a splitter between the IQ2 and the TV/T4 so the TV can see the IQ2 either d...

Have you enabled multi-resolution mode on the T4? There is a note in the update that it is highly recommended that you enable that in order to be able to match refresh rates. Re: T4 HDMI input recording.
The frame rate is an upper limit. So the feature has now been enhanced to support UP TO 720p60. If your IQ is outputting 1080i50, then the Wiz will adjust the recording framerate accordingly. This is done so that your recordings don't end up all stuttery due to a mismatch of framerates. Definitely ...
