This is all making sense. I had my very first 0x0022 error yesterday since upgrading to .235 the moment it was released. Prior to this I have had 2 or 3 HDD errors on startup for which the checks were always OK. I have no USB devices and one view only time in the early hours of the morning for 35 mi...

I am having funnies like this too. But slightly different. When I turn on my S1 I only get a reasonable EPG (ie more than a day) for Seven. Nine and Ten are blank until I press the down arrow then I get some EPG for programs in 2 or 3 days time. If I page up it jump to today with two days missing. E...

Surely the BW folk must realise that opening up the firmware, creating API's etc leverages all the talents from the end users willing to develop apps and tools to enhance the BW. It must make their life a little easier having all this help at hand. Guess they want to get the product to a certain poi...

I cant be thrashing my S1 hard enough. Over the break we have watched lots of DVD's, a lot of pausing fast forwarding etc and not a single problem. I am on the 192 firmware and so far no other problems have shown up either. However, the unit does go into standby most nights. Maybe thats what helps. ...

The firmware is compressed is it not. If so when it is uncompressed it will be error checked during that process by the decompression routine and then again during the upgrade process by BW routine would it not? If my thinking is right then there are two separate means of detecting corruption in the...

Dec 07 Firmware Good or Bad?
Just curious on what the general feeling is about the new firmware?
I myself have had zero issues before and after.
I really mean stability type issues not nice to haves missing etc.

It has also been suggested that the unit is powered down for a short while BEFORE applying the upgrade. I can see merit in this, particularly when the BW has been on for a significant time period (ie days). It means the BW will be clean of issues like possible memory leaks or the odd glitch in memor...

IceTv is such an amateurish company. Sorry - but I do not totally agree. There maybe some issues with ICE but its not all their doing. Its not really ICE TV's fault, BW need to make the EPG better (which I believe they will do sometime in the future). Hi Teddles, I did not intend to imply it was stable, I was saying (or meant to say) that I did not want to see nice to haves at the expense of stability (being sorted out). Secondly, I have been on the new firmware since it was available and I have found it to be fine, no freeze ups from normal use,...
