I was hoping that someone may have developed a BW PC utility to allow upload/download of the channel settings, names and favourites but my search through other BW software / application sites netted no results. Alas the telnet option sounds time consuming and it seems that it would involve firmware ...

Transferring Settings To 2nd BW

I have 2x DP-P1's and want to have them setup with identical channel names and favourites etc. Previously I have done this manually. Soon I will be doing a re-setup of channels, names and favourites and was hoping that there may be a useful "tool" available that would allow me to transfer ...

Thanks everyone for your replies for the SATA HDD in the DP-P2.
The extra $$ seems worthwhile and I am therefore going to proceed with purchasing a DP-P2 to compliment my existing DP-P1.

I had been looking at the SATA HDD topic but thought that this was primarily about HDD limitations associated with converting the internal HDD IDE connector of DP-P1 to SATA. Given that the DP-P2 internally supports SATA (see link "inside view" of link below which shows picture of DP-P2 wi...

I didn't know that the DP-P2 supported SATA drives! I therefore also assume that it will support the full 1TB of the WD10EACS - can anybody confirm this. I am about to purchase a 2nd BW unit (currently have a DP-P1) and was electing to stick with another DP-P1 as I cannot justify the DP-P2 extra $$ ...

Thanks Ian
I haven't tried any .IFO files but playing VIDEO_TS folder trees appears to be working.
Does it playback the menu structure or just the VOB files within the folder?
Can the audio stream be selected / changed?

Can anyone confirm whether the the new (beta) firmware supports full playback of DVD content (IFO files) from the network or USB HDD including:
- menu selection
- audio channel selection

Thanks

Hi Amt, There is a known bug with audio playback of VOB files which may be the cause of your problems If the VOB files contain DTS audio, then the audio only works for the 1st VOB file. I've encountered this problem & I have found that removing the DTS audio stream allows full audio playback (st...

In general VOB files seem to work best for me, but one set of movies don't have sound after the 2nd vob file for some reason (this happened on the 3 back to the future movies). Some also go really weird for the first minute or two of the first VOB, but then snap into line and the whole movie plays ...

Before I purchased the DP-P1, I had reception issues with my HD LCD screen with occassional dropouts, audio only dropouts, and pixelation - which were more common in the evening (incidently, increased interference in the evening can occur as household appliances are turned On in the neighbourhood). ...

Thanks for the reply. I made a mistake in the last section of the post. The additonal questions were meant for the DP-H1 (which doesn't have an internal HDD) Other DP-H1 Questions: - can the IceTV EPG be cached and stored on the USB HDD so that it is not re-fetched every time that it is turned On - ...

Networking Multiple BWs

I am the happy owner of a DP-P1 & in the lucky position to be considering the purchase of an additional BW to act as a media streamer / extender in another room, however I am unsure as to whether I will be able to achieve the functionality that I'm after. I currently have the P1 setup as a WizPN...

I am no expert on TV reception but I believe that you can use a powered splitter after a masthead amplifier (the powered splitter that I have allows pass through of the power to a masthead amplifier ie so that only 1 power pack is required) however in my case I tried a masthead amp and powered split...

Have a look at the Kingray range of powered splitters. Dick Smith stock some (limited) of their range. I use a SAM204 (from memory) which is a powered unit. http://www.gme.net.au/index.php I live in Geelong (residents commonly have reception problems due to long distance to TV transmission towers) &...

Device Codes - Does a detailed list exist?

I've found that working through the codes to match a brand name device to a specific model is tedious. A list which details the specific brand and model number that each code was originally setup for would make the configuration process far easier. If an end users product is not listed then at least...

Last night I had a timer recording set for 9:25pm to go for approx 90mins. I was woken by one of my kids at around 1:00am & on my sleep deprived journey to his bedroom I noticed that the BW was still indicating that it was recording - a bit longer than 90mins! In the belief that if I let it keep...

Thanks for your prompt reply. You guys are on the ball with supporting end users & its this type of service which promotes the BW name. 1. I've noticed that IFO file playback with DVD menus has already been listed on wishlist. I suggest an option for PUOs to be ignored as well Got to love those ...

Issues when playing back a VOB file over the LAN 1. I've found that if I used the "skip" functionality, the progress bar would appear and the time would skip forward as expected (I can't recall whether playback continued at this point or not, however the progress bar stayed on the screen)....

USB Drive - NTFS Support

I haven't had the opportunity to try this yet, but someone may already know the answer. I've previously read that BW cannot access USB HDDs which are setup as NTFS volumes. Does anybody know whether this is due to the file structure or just HDD security settings. eg. if "Everybody" had NTF...

* Note: Firmware versions 01.04.144 and later now have a 'Windows Sharing' option for setting the default Username and Password for the beyonwiz to use when accessing network shares.
