MattR, the latest firmware improved the DVD operation significantly but it is not fixed. Most DVDs will play but a good portion will not. Also sometimes if they play they may have a few minor glitches. Unfortunately you dont know which wont play until you take the DVD home from the video store and t...

PeteRyde, are you certain about the sort order being on time on the USB drive ? The sort order control on the internal HDD and the USB drive are independent of each other. If the internal HDD sort order is, say, Time DESC, that doesn't mean that the sort order on the USB HDD is Time DESC. I have ab...

Also can you and PeteRyde test this with native files on the internal hard drive? Unfortunately I only have a couple of files left on the internal drive which were recorded over the last couple of days. So I cant really check if it worked correctly on the internal drive. I was too efficient getting...

I am sorting by TIME. Sorry, I should have stated that up front. All the program files in the folder I am sorting are CSI. My expectation was that the files would be listed chronologically in the order they were recorded. I think it's because the Wiz sorts by time modified, not time created. Can yo...

I have a lot of CSI program files I copied from the internal HDD to an external 500GB USB drive within a folder called CSI. They are all wiz recordings. (One day I'll actually watch them.) When I use ascending sort on the contents of the CSI folder on the external drive I get the following: 01/12/0...

I am a little disappointed with the program file sorting enhancement by time. I thought it would sort the program files chronologically. However, it seems to only sort using the day of the month and the time. It does not look at the month or the year it was recorded. Is this how it was meant to wor...

I am also having the exact problem on my S1 on the 261 firmware. It just started late last night. I wish I looked at the forums a bit earlier. I already reformatted the hard drive and all the usual fault finding. In the end I can confirm too that if you disable ICE it works fine. So the problem is d...

Just noticed this thread too. I also have a USB Lacie 500GB drive (Black Neil Poulton with blue light underneath). I have had it for a couple of months. The only way my S1 can see it is if it is connected and powered up before the S1 boots. No matter what I try, it will never be recognised if I plug...

I had the exact same issue a month ago on my S1. I took it into Digital Products Group and they fixed it while I waited. They had to replace a capacitor I think. Anyway, time has been perfect ever since. When I first reported it to them, they had another S1 with the same issue being fixed there too....

Beyonwiz 6in1 Universal Remote
Does anyone have any feedback on the new Beyonwiz 6in1 Universal Remote? It seems VERY expensive for what it is or am I missing something? I see they are giving them away with new BWs sold in December. Perhaps BW could consider a half price offer to existing users for being early adopters and puttin...

Auto Time wrong by about 20 minutes
I have noticed on two occasions over the last 3 weeks that the time on my S1 has been slow by about 20 minutes. Because it is 20 minutes it is not a timezone offset problem. I am still using the 1.3.84 firmware and am using AUTO time. Obviously this causes a problem with timers not starting at the r...

Thanks Dave. Yes, I do leave the S1 in the file menu as I still have the older firmware release. It does not give you any other option. Perhaps it is resolved in a later firmware. The problem only occurs if I turn the TV off. If I leave the TV on but use another input, the problem does not occur. Th...

Copying to ext USB HD needs TV on for some reason
I was wondering if anyone else had seen something similar on the 1.3.84 S1 software. (Not game to upgrade to the latest SW just yet :) ) I have an S1 with a Sony Bravia TV connected via HDMI. An external WD MyBook 500G drive is connected via USB. I am still using the old 1.3.84 software on the S1. F...

My remote is glossy black where the buttons are with the exception of the insert where the centre arrow buttons are located. This is matt black. It is likely that they changed the whole thing to matt as the screen printing did not work properly on the gloss. Now that I look at it, there is very litt...

Beyonwiz screen printing rubbed off Remote Control
Anyone else have the "Beyonwiz" screen printing on the bottom of the remote control rub off?
I hope the buttons dont have the same fate. I'm not good at those memory games.

While trying to find out who sells VideoRedo, I noticed that the same company (Hyperreality) was clearing out their icetv prepaid stock. IceTV EPG indicating repeat shows
I asked IceTV if they could include an indicator on the BW EPG to denote if an episode is a repeat. I was hoping it could be inserted in the episode description. However, Daniel advised that: The repeat information is available in the feed that is supplied to the Beyonwiz, at this stage though it do...

Now that I have the 7 day ICE guide on the BW, it makes me appreciate an EPG feature on a my el-cheapo Humax STB. It has a simple search function. I have been setting up my new BW this week and everything is pretty much as I expected. :) I updated to the latest firmware. However, I have a question on the audio settings.
