I have been putting up with this AD 'feature' for years. I'm back again to see if anyone has way to permanently switch off Audio Description PLEASE.
Im sick of seeing AD on TV then having to choose the AUDIO button on the remote, then going from Aus to English mode.

My BW DPP2 (ver 1) has recently started displaying Firmware Upgrade available msgs on screen when I start up. I've just checked the downloads section, and I can't see anything later than 01.01.350

You need to do that on the remote to enable the power up to bootloader support, where it gets setup enough through the bootloader to support a firmware upgrade using the special upgrade tool. Greg... you are saying bit when you mean to say byte (not always, but sometimes). Wiz transfer rates are 3-4MegaBYTEper Second=24 to 32Megabit/s. LAN speed is 100Megabit/s=12.5MegaByte/s, wireless is 54Megabit/s (optimal rate.... real rates are plenty less). Regards OOPS. Sorry, yes I meant 1 to 3....

I guess the optics on a chip will be cheaper (I finally succumbed and looked at the link you provided), but this is still just a press release about something that doesn't really exist yet, apart from in a lab.
