Re: Cloning a V2 to a new V2 as a "warm" backup?
The default location is /media/hdd/ (which, on the V2, probably is your USB), where it adds backup/beyonwiz/v1 ; the current backup is enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz Brilliant - thanks for the confirmation and what I need to look for Update - I checked and it is storing the backups on the USB and I c...

Re: Cloning a V2 to a new V2 as a "warm" backup?
Ok a couple of follow up questions - I know these are somewhat dumb question but where is the Backup stored by default? I’ve gone in and generated a backup in Settings menu and can see it doing it - also do I just accept the Default settings or are there others I should be opting into as well? But w...

Re: Cloning a V2 to a new V2 as a "warm" backup?
Simply cloning the settings won't work. Paul is correct about the need to clone the device at the IceTV end (very easy); not something I have had to do recently. Not sure if the same goes for Topfield PVRs which use a much older API Thanks The good news is that can be done at the time of commission...

Re: Cloning a V2 to a new V2 as a "warm" backup?
One thing gotcha, is that I suspect that the settings for IceTV (user name and password) are not saved in the backup (even if they were there may be a certificate expiry issue). Thanks to both of you for the speedy and positive responses I could certainly live with the need to log into IceTV again ...

He told you the failure - no free demuxers left to fire off the recording. The V2 was playing a recording from the NAS/network share. The V2 was tuned to 3 different networks via 3 tuners. I think there are 5 demuxers for the V2. 3 were in use for current recording from the tuners. 1 was in use for...

Mounting everything upside down caused the USB tuner to not be attached correctly and it fell off the bus. No tuner, no demuxers, crash. Really? Is this not the correct place to post bugs? V2 Hang Error Reports
This from my new V2 (4 days old) - just threw this error when it was recording a couple of programmes
Despite it saying it would reboot in 10 secs it never did and I had to do a hard restart
I assume this is what I'm meant to post?
Any idea what caused it?

1. I'm sure the media selection list always returns to the last displayed location. 2. Did you change Setup>>TV>>Recording settings>>Default movie location? 3. It's most likely an operating system crash, and may be a hardware issue. If it is an OS crash, there may not be much of use in the debug logs, but it's worth having a look.
