The last update was released in Dec 2010, there are no betas in the pipeline, I would say the Beyonwiz units are well and truely end of life.

Have they sacked all their developers? Is Beyonwiz financially viable?

I couldn't find any specific reference to ageing hardware....

However, I did see the use of an powered USB hub may fix some issues. I will give it a go and see what happens.

A new Model? 8) That is the ONLY way to go. As long as BW specifies plenty of processing power and memory, then a new model may be worth a look at. The current DP-S1 seems to be so resource restricted, I can't see BW squeezing too much more functionality into the current model. I could be wrong......

Don't bother, buy a 500GB HD. They are cheap. I have a WD5000AAKB installed in my DP-S1 and it works well. This HD has similar power consumption figures and slightly better performance that the original Samsung HD. Don't install a HD that draws more power than the original. The power supply will not...
