I am in MEL and I now have
2 x ONE-HD channels,
1 x ONE-SD and
1x Ten SD.
Should there be a Ten HD channel to see regular Ten programming in HD or has that gone by the by?

Same with Paint Shop Pro which is what I use. You have to uncheck two boxes in the "Save As..." dialog to tell it to leave out EXIF and/or ICC (color profiles). By default this info will be retained when you save as a new file.

Point taken - Will keep it in mind for my overlaps. Seems most methods will require some form of compromise. I do like having the odd known recording like ABCNews presented to me without having to crop it. Especially seeing that I watch it frequently.
