Re: DP-P2 : Just ABC stations glitching (recordings) - sometimes
Your problem appears around sunset. Thanks you very much for the quick and informative reply. Actually it's mainly in the morning (Insiders). I live in an apartment and can't even see the aerial. As a test, I watched Insiders (SD) 'live' on the BW on Sunday morning...and not one error/glitch. I als...

DP-P2 : Just ABC stations glitching (recordings) - sometimes
Hi. My ever-reliable DP-P2 has started glitching on some ABC recordings; SD and HD. From what I can see, the signal quality is excellent. Glitching means freezing and jumping ahead during playback. Makes the recording unwatchable. I record the ABC News (SD) every night and there's no issue. Yet &quo...

<snip> 129 errors is way too much for a typical transmission. When I transfer files off the BW and I'm in a really good reception area I routinely run the file through PX before I do anything with it. In my locale PX reported errors are around 5 to 7 except on SBS 7 ~ 14 Just noticing something tha...

Thanks for the reply and links. Is the BW itself more tolerant of what seems to be (slightly) corrupt recordings...that it itself made? I mean these playback just fine on the BW, but have these errors when I move them to a PC. As I said, and you noted, reindexing on the BW seems to fix them. Project...

[DP-P2] Reindex a recording before copying to PC?
Have DP-P2. A few times now have used WizFX to copy an SD recording over as a .ts file Recording plays fine on P2 - smooth, no breakup, but .ts has issues on PC VLC and VideoReDo. VLC won't FF, just crashes and VRD reports similar issues and suggests a Quickfix (which appears to remove whole seconds...

You can't get the time of day while playing recordings from the FilePlayer. You can get time of day on the screen while watching live TV or timeshifted TV by pressing the INFO ( i ) button on the remote. IIRC, it's never been possible to get time of day while playing recordings or media from the Fi...

Did the real-time clock display used to be shown with earlier firmware? I've just put on 01.07.350 on the DP-P2, but - during recording playback - can't seem to get it to show the current clock time on screen. Am I right in thinking it used to shown on the screen as part of the current playback posi...

Hi FrankPoole, I wonder if Ch 9 changed the way they modulate or send their signal recently? Yes, Channel 9 has changed their systems very recently. (On the day of the change I had all sorts of reception issues. I rang Channel 9 to complain and was told that they were making changes to their system...

Thanks all. Had the TV for a while now and it's not showing the white dashes on Ch 9 via its own tuner. I have always had the TV on THX mode when using the DP-P2 and that disables overscan. As I prefer the PQ when in this mode, I guess I'll have to get used to it. As well as contact Ch 9. I wonder i...

[DP-P2] Channel 9 Melbourne white dashes on top
Just seemed to have started today (Feb 7th 2011). White dashes on top of screen, basically the top line. Only goes about 1/2 across from LHS. Static, not pulsing or "dancing" Checked other channels and not there. Happens in both live and playback. Put latest firmware on about a week ago, b...

Hi FrankPoole, By the way, did you contact the TV manufacturer and complain about the way their PIP function works? Have you asked them for the ability to move the PIP window around the screen? Lets be fair, this really isn't a problem being caused by the Beyonwiz. :) Regards, Ian. G'day Ian. No ha...

Option to move Progress Bar position [DP-P2]
Would be great to have this option. As per this recent discussion it can be blocked by other information such as Picture-in-Picture. Would be nice to move the PB up to the top of the screen, for example. Thanks.

Hi, Ian. I don't think it sounds like that at all. FrankPoole is talking about the TV's PiP overlapping the Beyonwiz's progress bar. I can't see how that involves whether the TV is overscanning or not. Hey all. Thanks for this. This above is exactly what is happening. TV's Main Screen = BW playback...

[DP-P2] Move Progress Bar to top of screen?
I've tried to search for this on this forum but couldn't find any hits. My TV has PiP but it clobbers the RHS of the DP-P2s Progress Bar. I'm obviously trying to move either the PiP screen or the Progress Bar. Can it be done on the BW?

I've been thinking about this DP-P2 and Media Player (Popcorn). The AUD strong so I'd guess the Popcorn is cheap, was when I got mine a year or 2 ago. Assuming you are in AU! I think I'll end up with 2 media boxes in the TV room: * DP-P2 dedicated to TV stuff * A media-centre PC, no tuner card, but ...

Thanks all. Have Toppy 5000 and Popcorn A-100. Plan to replace both with DP-P2. So am just understanding what the DP-P2 does and how it does it, compared to these two. 97% clear/happy so far :-) The 3% are - BW seems to have 'background' timer padding. Timers show without padding values included, ju...

New User with NO questions (thank you)
Just wanted to say thanks. Have just got my first Beyonwiz (DP-P2) and, by using this forum, found all my questions had already been covered. So I have no questions.....
And the P2 is a gem.
