The iPhone and iPad apps have just had a 50% reduction - now $16 each. They have been on the appstore for 3 and 2 years respectively without any changes in their price until now. I was unlucky that I purchased the iPad app a couple of weeks ago at full price, however I was lucky that I held off on b...

Thanks very much to prl - I received my Slingbox Solo last week. I thought I would post my experiences if anyone was interested. The Slingbox streams video from your device (such as a Beyonwiz) to another device (such as a pc/iphone/ipad) anywhere in the world. I have a DP-H1 that wasn't getting muc...

Re: Full HD Performance - Beyond the Wiz?
Is anybody else at this crossroads? Yes, although I've been struggling with it for a little while. I built a small XBMC pc to help me play my HD camcorder files, and sometimes it struggles with those too. One solution I came up with was to re-encode my camcorder files as 720p mp4 files, which altho...

Although my 3 Wizzes all supported ISO playback I found that it still wasn't 100% reliable so I eventually transcoded them to mp4 using Vidcoder (http://vidcoder.codeplex.com/). It was quite painless actually and I batch encoded quite a lot of ISO's over a few nights.

Indeed! I've got 3 Wiz's now so I don't really need a STB, but I'm pretty sure my parents could do with one.prl wrote: Not doubting you, but curious end date for the offer!

Dealspace free STB offer
Just in case anyone is interested, Dealspace.com.au (Beyonwiz's online store) is giving away free digital set top boxes if you write a review of a recent purchase from them. I happened to buy a DP-S1 and DP-H1 from them last month so was able to take advantage of the offer. You need to get your revi...

Delete recordings via WizPNP?
Is it possible to delete recordings stored on one Beyonwiz from a second Beyonwiz? (ie if I've just streamed a recording from the Living Room wiz to the Study wiz and I've finished watching it, can I delete it using the Study wiz)
I've looked around for an answer but haven't found anything yet!

The coloured buttons on the 600 would probably be the decider for me. The coloured buttons are so heavily used in the Beyonwiz GUI that you'd have to dedicate soft buttons for them on the One. The One also has only three soft-programmable buttons, even if they're on a touch screen, so you couldn't ...

This is all assuming that all they want is the video and audio. This won't preserve closed captions. But it's probably one of the simplest methods, and Streamclip's much simpler to use than ProjectX (for simple things like this). Streamclip is free. Many thanks for these instructions! Can you edit ...

Ok thanks - I understand now what you need by film vs video. One of my tests must have been 25fps because it didn't look fluid like the original recording. Camcorder HD video - best file format for Beyonwiz playback?
I recently bought a Canon Legria HF S20 camcorder. I was happy to see that changing the file extension of the video files it creates from .m2ts to .mp4 makes it playback perfectly on the Beyonwiz (thanks to a previous forum poster!) However I am trying to find the best file format to play back on th...

Projectx ok but ImagoMpeg-Muxer fails :(
I have successfully transferred a number of recordings from the Wiz to my PC, demuxed them using Projectx and then muxed them with Imago Mpeg Muxer. However a recent recording fails to mux with Imago - it gets part way through the recording and then bombs out. Is there anything I can check or fix? I...

Snowy static on 9HD (Ch 90)
Has anyone noticed a light snowy static on 9HD (Ch 90)? It seems to occur after an ad break and only last for about 10-20 secs before disappearing. It then reappears after the next ad break. Doesn't seem to be a Beyonwiz issue as I have also observed it on my tv internal tuner. Seems really weird, e...

Re: FW 320
This is a more interesting way to look at this problem. People who jump in and blame the new firmware, because it is new, are flying against the tide of people who don't have such a problem. Abandoning the new firmware without investigation is not going to get any issues fixed. There could be a bug...

Is Firmware 320 a little less stable than 301?
I upgraded my DP-S1 from 301 to 320 a couple of weeks ago and have noticed that it seems a little less stable now. A few times the DP-S1 has locked up on the fileplayer file list and I needed to power off the unit to make it work again (not at the wall, just using the remote). I never got these lock...

Following up from my previous post.... The audio dropouts are becoming too annoying so I would like to change the firmware on the DP-P2 from 1.05.304 to something else. It is a new DP-P2 so I can't revert to the .301 firmware. The only option (from the Beyonwiz site) is the new 1.07.014 firmware, ho...
