Topfield TF5000PVRt Silver and Masterpiece for Parts
I am cleaning up at home and have a (faulty) Silver 5000 and a (faulty) Masterpiece 5000 to give away for free if anyone wants them for parts. My DP-P2 does all I need and I don't need these SD PVRs anymore. The Silver had trouble accessing the HDD so I assume the at the very least it would need rep...

Yet another post to say thanks to Mark (and to nudge this post). My DP-P2 had been working flawlessly for the last 4 years until I got the Error 0000 message last week and thanks to Mark I now have my Wiz back up and working. Excellent service and great price. While I'm at it, I'll extend this thank...

Hi _DrifteR_, Apple TV 2 looks good too, but unfortunately the highest resolution is 720p Apparently XBMC on ATV2 can support 1080p using hardware decoding although it is reported to have issues on some 1080p content - so probably only half marks there. My wife bought me an AppleTV 2 for my birthday some months back. I had a MKV file that the wiz wouldn't play, so I jail-broke the ATV2 and installed XBMC on it. Problem solved. My media playing is now handled completely by my ATV2 with XBMC. Don't get me wrong, XBMC for iOS is not completely bug fre...

Personally I have purchased 4 Beyonwizes for family members this year alone. Before this year I couldn't give my Topfield 5000 away (to family members)! I think the idea of TV series on demand is attractive, but my experience is that all is played in FTA before it is released on iTunes (and others?)...

I just ran the test agin and got the same result. If I get some time to myself this weekend I might update the firmware and see how it goes. Edit: test was two consecutive timers on two different broadcasters while watching a third. Setup Timer 1: 9.02pm-9.04pm TEN Timer 2: 9.04pm-9.06pm NINE Was wa...

Perhaps Drifter recorded two channels from the same mux? Would that force both timers onto the same tuner, and explain his observation? Drifter, what channels did you record in your test? The channels varied each test, but I made sure they were different broadcasters, eg, TEN and NINE, not TEN and ...

Thanks all for your input, I appreciate all your comments. I have done some testing inspired by you all. First Answers to questions. prl: Yes, two different broadcasters were used to test second timer, not services. I originally used wrong language. IanSav: Yes, I have read the padding FAQ, and agai...

Issues with timer priorities
I have been having issues with timer priorities for the last two weeks. Here's the issue. 6.30pm-7.00pm - TEN 7.00pm-7.30pm - SBS2 (Please don't judge... It's for the wife) No other timers around the 7pm mark, in fact, no timers until 8pm. Pre-padding set to 0 min, Post-padding set to 10 minutes. I ...

Can not reinstate scheduled recordings
After about a year of uninterrupted IceTV usage, I decided to rescan channels to re-map the new ABC services (24hr news) and now the I can't get my scheduled recordings back. I have a DP-P2 running 01.05.301 on a 0908 0000 0A22 9E3C sys id. After rescanning channels, I removed the IceTV cache data, ...

My apologies for being vague. My Mickey-Mouse reception translates to all my digital channels being 99% signal strength and quality, with the exception of SBS that hovers between 96%-98% signal strength and 99% quality. Just rescanned for channel 50 (just in case 3D transmission was delayed) and sti...

I will have to try rabbit ears on weekend (if I can find them). Don't know what the external antenna looks like, but it should have line-of-sight to Mt Coot-tha. All other channels have micky-mouse reception. Is this an indication that 3DTV will require me to get a different antenna after the trial ...

I struggled for months with a DVICO digital tuner (about 2 years ago). As mentioned above, the firmware was buggy, and from memory, upgrading the firmware was a nightmare (uninstall, remove PCI card, install, add card, finish install). Things may have changed now, but it was enough to turn me off DV...

ABC HD vs ABC1
Thanks all. I was unaware that freeview had changed their marketing to "5 extra channels" from "15 channels". Personally I have tried to ignore the whole freeview thing... As Murphy's law would have it, I checked ABC HD against ABC1 and the Tennis finishes at 6pm on ABC1 and 7pm ...

Are the HD channels just simulcast on their SD equivalents?
I remember when the HD channels started their own programming, but with the launch of 7two and GO!, are the HD channels now just a simulcast of the SD? All the programming I have seen seems to suggest this, but not sure. Freeview is advertising 16 channels, but if as I see it there are about 11 chan...

Re: Ethernet Cable Replaced
I must add though, you can only use WEP security when using the 'bridge mode' on the TP-Link 641G. I'm not sure if other products support greater security, but this security is the same as all the Ethernet over Power adapters I have seen. Hope this info helps someone else make thier WIZ pseudo-wire...

Ethernet Cable Replaced
I read your posts and thought it was very helpful. I have just replaced my ethernet cables by setting up a wireless bridge and thought I would share my experience. My desired setup was to allow for my NAS and WIZ to connect wirelessly to the main home network router/modem from across the room (ie, n...

DP-P2 Passed Wife Test - Toppy 5k for sale
After 4+ months of comprehensive testing, my P2 has performed perfectly. I have read the forums ever since buying my P2, and read all about peoples' issues. Well personally, my P2 (with ICETV) has performed beyon(d) my expectations. My origins were forged in a Toppy 5000 series that changed our livi...
