OK, so I've checked it out and learnt two things. 1 - The AV Bypass button on the P2 mutes the sound but it does nothing on the Lite-i 2 - I should move the Lite-i to the lounge room so the kids don't mute it! Anyway, getting off the original topic now so I'll have to leave you in the hands of the e...

The very top right button on the remote. My kids have pressed it in the past. If you've got it working using other leads though, I would think this isn't the issue though. Good luck!

Out of space

Unfortunately, my wife operates this all the time. The concept of deleting recordings and maintaining space is a foreign concept. The Beyonwiz will pop a message up on screen at 6GB of space left and stop recording with 3GB of space left. If your unit is telling you there was still 3GB left, it has ...

That must be a difference between the NAS devices - the Synology management software has the option to reindex the media files. Also, viewing the folder from another machine after the optimisation keeps those settings that were applied. When I was referring to the Brady Bunch problem - I was meaning...

You mentioned earlier that you'd reindexed - was this on the Synology or the Beyonwiz? Something else I might try would be to optimise the folder from your XP machine for videos.

Lastly, if you move all the files to a newly created folder, does it make any difference?

One thing that can slow the Synology down is if you upload a lot of photos to it - the photo station (even if it is disabled) will index the files and generate thumbnails. This can tie up the processor and slow down other functions but it would only be a once off - not ongoing.
