According to the information that Mark supplies, they use different power supplies. On Mark’s Beyonwiz PVR repair guides page on his Decisive Computer Solutions website, the DP-P2 uses an IP-100 power supply & the FV-L1 & DP-P1 uses an IP-108 power supply. Thanks, I did see that before but ...

The other halfs P2 decided to present this when it was turned on. Appears it's probably related to a failed power supply section component? What actually happens when your turn it on is the display shows "loading" for a slightly longer period of time than normal and then it shows the error...

Why not run getWizPnP on the T3? The files could be converted as they are being copied from the P2 drive to the T3. Perl is available, what else would be needed? (Besides a UI). sounds like the go to me - much better than transferring from P2 to Pc and then to T3 i'd imagine there'd be a viable mar...

I have a locked file on my P1 (actually a dealspace modded FV_L1 running P1 firmware) that i want to delete but as i don't know the lock code I can't or don't know how to delete this file i don't know who the smartar$e was who locked it, but i want it gone - is it possible to delete this file somehow?

yep, a good result

one thing i've noticed is that the front panel display is quite bright - much brighter than my old P2. Is there any way to dim this down at all? I can't find any info about dimming in the manual.

tried the BR02 remote again and now it's working!

thanks to sub3R for the suggestion to retry it - unit responds and is service scanning now

hopefully it hangs in there all weekend :-)

be much quicker to get a replacement remote than the whole unit!

thanks for the tip about being able to see the IR with a camera - it works fine in any mode

Also, after i bought this at $199 of course, they now have these on special for $139 plus shipping! Pretty much a bargain price .... if the one you get works :oops:

Alternatively, you could get a 500GB DP-Lite. Different codeset from the P2, and less expensive, too. $299 new from Dealspace, vs $499 for a new 1TB P2 from the same source or $399 for a reconditioned 500GB P2. i think this is probably the best option really - i see dealspace has the i model recon ...

had a problem with WZ not working and the log telling me that settings.exe was missing - no matter what i tried i couldn't get it to work (unistalled, reinstalled). By work i mean to actually download a file from my P2 - it would connect and all the info showed just fine but no file transfers happen...

looks like it's time to revert to .320 (i keep previous versions in case the source disappears) - what a PITA after having to reload all the timers etc. If you give DPG a call, explain that you are having trouble with copying files off using WizFX/WizZilla and ask nicely, they might give you a late...

if i enable DHCP i get a DNS of 192.168.1.254

i'd like to set a static IP of 192.168.1.7 - if i enter the DNS same as above i get an error message on the time

edit, you guys are right, it seems it is DNS related - if i enable DHCP i get no error messages - would really rather a static IP tho

thanks for the answers and the server name my P2 is connected to a 4 port wireless router http://www.repotec.com/products/WirelessLAN/802_11n/RP_WR5422/RP_WR5422_1.asp (it also connects my wdtv and lg bluray player to the network) which in turn connects wirelessly to my billion 7403vgp.
