Re: Failed recordings on T4

Nice work Peter,

Update received a short time ago, installed and problem is gone.

8 simultaneous recordings with no issue, no audio problems or zero lengths.

I was a wooss and stopped at 8, lol but im more than happy with that...

Great work!

Re: Failed recordings on T4

It would be nice to have a new 17.5 stable official I have to admit. There are a lot of issues with the current 16.1 official and the 17.5 release just prior to these recording issues occuring was certainly a huge step up, despite the subtitle issues that it had. If the subtitle fixes can be applied...

Re: Failed recordings on T4

I have pulled out a T3 and tested that with latest downloadable 17.5 beta and am not seeing the issue so far.

I will have to pull out a spare T2 and test that to see if it has the issue as well.

Seems that whatever was changed is specifically affecting only the T4...

Actually thinking about this now and going over your original post... This comes down to what Peter was saying in another post (prl), and it has to do with the system defaulting to recording on the internal flash memory which is likely to be what has happened to you. Re: 3.5" SATA in a T2 - will it blow up?

It could be either, the jury is still out...

Every where i look, some state it as 12.5 others 15, so the next time i get one in ill measure it to be sure lol...

Either way, even if it is 15mm, it fits well in the T2 with 2-3mm spare clearance, so its all good either way.

Actually I thought it was 15mm too, but after researching a bit today it appears to be only 12.5mm, and no so far no issues, it is still below the case lid level, doesn't touch it or sit against it, and there are open vents in the top of the case directly above it anyway. Have to agree sorry, keeping it simple is best. It's going to be rather frustrating if what others have said here is true and you have to keep formatting your shingled drive once fragmentation builds up. That's going to wear very thin very fast. It is a shame the cost is so high for non-shingled dri...

Re: disk, ps or firmware? T3 reboot loop

Sounds like your unit has multiple issues, which unfortunately is very common with T3 units. The reboot loop is caused by a moisture sensitive power regulator on the main-board that is prone to failing regularly. So if your unit is just reboot looping, first you will need the regulator changed out. ...
