Re: Wiz PSUa
I did not have the machine looked at back then - no idea who to send it to was one thing, but the other thing was that there was a stream of firmware updates, each of which would sort out some problem or other so I just kept on updating. I suspect that there is a dry joint / bad connection in the fr...

Re: Wiz PSUa
Thanks for your replies, folks. As far as the -P2 is concerned it has chewed up a few disks including the one it came with; just seems to lose the FAT and not be able to find the recordings. Take the disk out and look on a PC via UFS and the files are there and copy-able, no obvious problem. But it ...

I have a DP-P2, bought because of the increased disk size to replace a bullet proof DP-P1. It has power supply problems and is continuously losing its disk. I am 99.8% sure that this is the case as no matter what I disk or SATA cable I have tried the machine eventually craps itself and loses the dis...

Re: T3 internal HDD problems. Possibly
Well I opened up the T3 this afternoon after finding the files missing once more. I checked the connections, could find nothing obvious but, since I was there and had a 1.5TB WD green drive available doing nothing I thought I would swap it in. However, after re-building and plugging back in, there w...

Re: T3 internal HDD problems. Possibly
Hi, folks, No avoidance of the firmware updates here; all is bang up to date (I did a check on Saturday for any updates available via the menu and network connection). Nope, not moved recording files anywhere, I have a 2TB disk (certainly a WD, possibly a purple drive) in it. This morning the proble...

T3 internal HDD problems. Possibly
Good day, folks, My T3 is 2 years old soon and, aside from the not-yet-ready multitude of fw updates, has performed well enough. In the last couple of weeks, though, we seem to have a problem. If recordings are deleted, the next time the machine is switched on (from stand-by) the Movies folder does ...

Re: Periodic switch-off
G'day, folks, Update follows... When I repeated play-back of files to reproduce the switch off problem it did, indeed, switch off. And on... and so on. So I tried the tea-towel option over the front. As soon as the towel touched the front panel, the power off button was activated. Often. Until I rem...

Re: Periodic switch-off
No new items in the house, no. This problem occurred last night (ie when house lights were on) and today (no lights on). It is very significant, I think, that it only started to happen after the bootloader upgrade but, like you, I cannot really imagine why it would be. I think the most likely sugges...

Re: Periodic switch-off
Addendum: Apologies, I missed a bit of information. By "switching off" I mean it goes into Stand-by mode as you described it, with the date/time displayed. Then it powers back up and resumes playing the file (if it is video) with the "Do you wish to continue from *time*?" prompt....

The update to which I refer is the boot loader update. As per: Dear T3 owner, Please head to the following link for further information and to download the Bootloader update. This will increase stability of your T3 when connecting multiple USB devices. http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?...

Good day, folks, Yesterday, I installed the new version of the whatever-it-was-that-I-need-to-install-this-week-to-get-a-working-box software, hoping that the improved stability regarding USB devices might mean fewer crashes while using the T3. For me, this mostly involved when chase-playing somethi...

Re: Pixelated playback
Is the stutter playback really fixed in the next software release? I ask because it is getting worse - occurring on every recorded file, regardless of the channel it was recorded from. I rarely watch live TV, so difficult to say if it is a playback only thing. That said, I am now using live TV and n...

Hi, Gully,
Not had to do that before and I don't know how it is done -other than doing a complete re-scan. Do you mean just getting rid of the old SBS channels? If so, how?

Hi, folks, That Kingray splitter/amplifier was the one I got from Jaycar. I got the money back from them, though, and did some more research. Interestingly enough, with the amplifier out of the system (and also the splitter that sent signal to the USB tuner and to the Toppy) the signal on the Toppy ...

DP-P2 and SBS problems in Sydney
Good day, folks, I have a riddle, one that I am seriously puzzled over but I am hoping that someone has seen it and knows how to get round it. Fairly recently, SBS in Sydney changed frequencies. Good enough, the TV and my Toppy 7160 duly sought for and were rewarded with SBS on new frequencies, Chan...

Re: Tuners
@blip: I had the USB tuner and the lead to the Toppy connected to the T3 output connector via a passive splitter, so splitting the signal. I have since tried it with the USB connected directly to the T3 output and with a variable amplifier coming off the T3 output and the USB and Toppy connected to ...

I got the fourth USB tuner, too, as I have come into a few instances when three or four programmes have been on at the same or similar time. Hi, Paul, Thanks for the response, it looks like a Kingray variable output amp would be the way to go and yes, I suspect a four-way would bt a good step. Re: Compatible HDDs
As a general rule, I tend to prefer lots of smaller disks although the T3 not reducing the size of edited files makes bigger drives more desirable. That said, if copying to external drives is faster than the -P1 and -P2 then I guess we could live with it. As for asking Beyonwiz I was hoping to drop ...

Thanks for the replies, folks, much appreciated. I can see that definitive answers on warranties are going to be difficult to answer, but selling the base model could well rely on such answers.
